So far that's 2 straight solid performances for Meyers. I hope he can keep it up. Not expecting him to score in double figures, but he finally looks like he is comfortable on the court. And he doesn't hesitate when he's shooting, which is what we've all been begging him to do.
We were 3rd in the West....3 games out of missing the Playoffs and a million miles from #2. Right smack dab in the middle of purgatory....along with the other 5 teams that were all within a game or two of the Blazers.
One thing about our rooks, they don't hesitate to shoot. Good to see Meyers and Layman look like they might belong in the NBA finally.
So there's 25 teams in purgatory? What's the point in playing the season then? Why not just have 4 teams player 2 rounds of 41-game series? I hate how the term "purgatory" is used around here. Makes it seem like everything is pointless...
So it sounds like 5 other teams who made the playoffs are also in the middle of purgatory. At least there will be company.
Silly Bones...lol. If Portland (or any of the other myriad of teams mired in the #3-9 spots in the West) had been anywhere close to the top 2, then they would escape that purgatory. Those in the upper Lottery also have a chance to get better by addition of talent so they escape purgatory as well. It's the ones in the middle (no, not 25) that have no shot of even being close to competing but aren't bad enough to have a decent chance to add decent talent through the draft. But then you knew that and it must have been a slow Sunday night.
You are a young man. 23 if memory serves. I have been a Blazer fan longer than you have been alive! Now imagine that, all those years, and no goddamn championship. Yes, there have been hundreds and hundreds of great moments and games and whatever-the-fuck, but at some point--while you enjoy everything still (hell, I went to Fan Fest last night; I've got row E to opening night, etc)--you start to see the dead souls pile up around you, you watch the Lakers go up and then down and then up again, dynasties rising all over the place and falling away; meanwhile the Blazers just bob along like buoys at sea, never sinking too low or rising to high. If that ain't fucking purgatory in a macro sense, I don't know what is.
Old man, you are tossing knowledge all over this forum! I may front load your status from rookie to vet if this continues.
I get it. I just enjoy basketball enough where I don't think of everything negatively when we're competitive but not contenders.
