This game is the pinnacle of our season. Sev was in power mode. Betances did great. The team is locked in. Judge, Voit and Stanton on the center stage!!! Tremendous! Friday …..We Carry This On. thYankees.jpg

...something else I took note of from last night's game...defensively, Sanchez may have had his best game of the year by far behind the plate.

Yep, weird shit, Sanchez was on the ball behind the plate, and Boner actually managed the game quite well. The Betances move worked out to a successful conclusion but a nail biter anyway. I thought Judge showed a touch of class praising the Oakland Teams season performance.

Judge did graduate from the Jeter school of baseball diplomacy.

The weight and gravity of October baseball in the Bronx was a constant force for these kids to feel growing up in the Yankee system. I can't even fathom the spectrum of emotions they are experiencing.

What school would you say Sanchez graduated from, or was he a dropout.

I wonder if Judge will ever be a candidate for a captain, due to being an outfielder??

Of course the Bambino was a captain for a short time, until he climbed in the stands to confront a heckler....

Wee Willie Keeler another outfielder was a captain, but I don't count that being the dead ball era...

After last night's amazing catch, I believe the Yankees would be on the right track to resign Hechavarria...
He is a much better utility defensive infielder than Walker or Toe. Or Wade, and others prior i.e. Drury et al...

Judge & Stanton hitting home runs was a play on opening day expectations . Voits AB was unscripted method occurrence that had great response. Andujar will improve on defense I'm sure but having Hechavrrria in there as late defense will be fine for the remainder of the season. That was quite the catch he made and he has hit a couple of bombs.

...win, lose, or draw, the Yanx simply must address the defense of Andujar and Torres and Sanchez during the off season. A solid as the defense is in the OF, the IF with the exception of DiDi leaves much to be desired...we saw more examples of it last night and were lucky to get away with it. But over the course of a full season it will eventually kill you.
...not sure if maybe specialized drills and/or coaching is in order or as much as I hate to say it, maybe even some roster moves may happen but one thing is certain, something really needs to change.
