Nah. I watched enough of Collins to know he will be fine. This is second year. Two more years before he puts it together.

Maybe. With the way Stauskas is playing maybe not.

I can see it being impactful in end game situations.

Did you watch Stauskas on defense? He's the Meyers of guards, IMO. Since he's new though, and his mistakes aren't quite as obvious, people like him.

Defensively he was very, very bad.

No jump. Slow foot speed and Lumbering yes. Maybe even some lack of basic BBIQ?

Very enjoyable game when it was starters vs. starters, but those guyz off the bench who gave that PUTRID performance need to head to the gym NOW, and figure it out. Baldwin looks like he's regressed. Swanigan was clueless. Trent Jr. looked disinterested. Collins was like, "coach, what did I do to deserve playing with these knuckleheads". I give credit to Simons for showing some talent, but defense was not his forte as Allen lit him up. I know, it's preseason, and Turner didn't play, Harkless is hurt, but c'mon bench. Except for Stauskas, pretty much dooky. On the happy side, Dame and CJ were primo, and Nurk's hardwork is showing. Gobert is no stiff, and Nurk was a beast. Looked smooth in the paint, and that 3 Ball will open the paint up for drives.

I really hope Nurkic plays 33mpg. It might mean no Biggie or Meyers:

    Lillard (36) / Curry (12)
    McCollum (36) / Curry (12)
    Harkless (20) / Turner (24) / Curry (4)
    Aminu (32) / Harkless (10) / Collins (6)
    Nurkic (33) / Collins (15)

I think that's the ideal lineup.

Some good things i did see with Meyers was he was successful at drawing out his man on offense and it did open up the court. With Stauskus took full advantage of the open key a couple times. Meyers also was doing well boxing out on the defensive end. He did not play bad.

    Positives for me:
    Stauskas!
    Layman!
    Nurk for three!
Curry with Lillard and CJ - unguardable trio.

    Negatives:
Sorry Biggie, but we thought you couldn't run because you were fat, but it turns out you just can't run
Our young guys can give up leads faster than our main guys can build them.
Basically Nurk is our only reliable big right now (not counting Aminu and I guess Harkless). But I guess picking up useful centers on the cheap has been the one thing Olshey is consistently good at...

You became certain after a game without the backup point guard?

my hype factor after this game is about a -6

i think what we seem to be hugely missing is the energy that Harkless brings and the tenacity that Ed had.

so many zzzzzz sigh zzzzzzz sigh parts of that game.

Regular season and we keep the scrubs glued to the bench, likewise.

I kind of agree with Bones on that. Curry would do well and CJ can play the two.

I cant wait for the regular season, these are not well played games guys are obviously still figuring things out, they dont have a feel for each other. I think we should really hold off on making much of a judgement on who’s good or bad from these games.

Turner is the guy who brings the ball up, but he guards SFs. He's basically a point forward. It's literally as if Curry plays all backup guard mimutes and Turner plays SF with him and brings the ball up.
