Stock up now before its a huge hastle. The area will get hit a few days from now by a strong Tropical Storm at least, but it could be a Cat 3... https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/atlantic/2018/potential-tropical-cyclone-fourteen
My sister, brother in law, and newest nephew live in Panama City. I'm sure they will be fine though. Even @MARIS61 has visited that house. Hopefully everything works out alright over there. I'm going to be heading that direction in a couple of months to continue my wildlife research career.
It's a he. My female cousin who lives in Florida lives in Coco Beach. Coco Beach is doomed due to sea level rise. My male cousin who lives in Florida lives in Panama City.
Predicted to make landfall as a CAT 2. Already has 50mph winds. If it can organize enough to efficiently make use of the warm GOM, then who knows.
There's just not as much time to prepare as other storms. With refineries closing ahead of the storm, gas will run out. I assume they're staying based on what you said, but they're literally in the dead center of a pretty certain cone for a Cat 2 hurricane with Cat 3, maybe even Cat 4 potential.
https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/atlantic/2018/tropical-storm-michael Already near hurricane status. Probably gonna be a very Strong Cat 2 or a Cat 3 landfall. @Chris Craig can you change the thread title to "Hurricane Matthew"?
Floridians should keep a survival boat in the garage along with their cars. The gulf region is never stabile.
Should be. You'll get squalls but the models are in pretty good agreement that the center will go towards Panama City.
