Nope. I work downtown and see protests, but rarely see anarchy. Maybe it happens more on the weekends.

Of course it does. Last year we passed measure 26-141, which made antifa the official city police force effective July 1. This is normal.

Were those videos made on the one day of demonstrations, or is that everyday?

It's not like that everyday - usually when antifa stops a car downtown, crazed homeless people will rob and kill the driver. Not sure why that didn't happen in this video.

Stupid people man. Lucky those people in the cars don't pull out a gun and start firing.

Just curious what the point of directing traffic is? Are they literally trying to bait people into attacking them so they can claim they were attacked by a racist? In their mind does it make you a fascist or a racist if you don't want to follow their traffic controls? Are they just trying to demonstrate how much power and authority they think they have?

If it's during the day they held the demonstrations, maybe they're trying to keep cars out of the block they're demonstrating on. So they can have the demonstration.

Usually, police would clear out traffic, but in the age of Republican privatization, it saves the government money to have the demonstrators do the traffic control. Our thrift enables bigger tax cuts for the rich, a laudable endeavor.

I don't think that it's everyday, and that it's played up by the media for various reasons. For instance, from a friend of mine in DC...

I've noticed a similar sort of effect in sports. For example, the day after a Blazer game, there aren't any fans in the arena or anywhere near the Moda Center. Hard to understand why that is.

For those who haven't been there...Those spots, even when closed, have thousands of tourists and 10,000 government employees walking home on the sidewalks. People holding signs blend right into the crowd. Tourists take pictures of signholders from 2 feet away. Washington, D.C. is crowded with walking traffic.

The second picture and the last one would usually have a lot more people, especially in late afternoon or early evening, in summer or fall. It can be a pretty cool place for nice people, at the right time.

Seems like you're right on this one. Other people have said that, contrary to what the news had been reporting (about the Friday protests going on through the weekend), Sarsour's at least said it was only Saturday buses left Saturday night. NYC and Boston had Sunday rallies.
