I’m hoping everyone on this board sees this woman as 100% wrong and that she’s a racist nut job. I hope.
This hyper sensitive projection is crazy. 30 so odd years ago I was single parent raising a Daughter. I always had at least two or three girls around the house, ran them around, sleep overs etc etc etc..I hate to say it, but I would never do the same in todays environment
In these types of situations, I'd err on the side of caution. Don't see anything wrong with it. I mean if I was taking around two black kids or white kids around and acted defensive, it would look really suspect as well. Don't they have that campaign "if you see something suspicious, say something".
Me in Montana with my Nephew. PLEASE DON'T CALL THE POLICE ON ME!!! This is for all the people who wanna call me racist... MFs I have FAMILY that are white...: I babysit my nieces sometimes....
“She pulled up alongside us and asked, ‘Are the kids OK?'” Lewis tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “I answered, ‘Why wouldn’t they be?’ She just smirked and drove off.” The woman circled the parking lot and returned to Lewis’s car, saying, “Can I ask the little girl if she knows who you are?” and Lewis answered, “No, you cannot.” The woman then said, “OK, I will take down your license plate,” and left. “I asked a few white witnesses if it looked suspicious that I was caring for two white children, and they said ‘Kind of,'” says Lewis. So several different people verified he looked a little suspicious, the woman seemed like she was being polite here. Child trafficking, abductions and murder is a real thing, if the guy is being defensive, the next step is to escalate otherwise it could be another dead kid found in the forrest.
G Oh, stop it. Some guy eating Subway with some kids (they have Subways in Walmarts? Weird.)? That sure seems suspicious. And then he got gasoline?!? Oh my god!!! What's next? Is he going to drive them to soccer practice?!? I see people with kids of different race all the time. Never ever occurred to me to cross-examine them. If I bent down and asked the kid,"Do you know this person?" I'd expect trouble. This seems to be because he is a black man. If he were a white man, or an even an Asian man, with two black kids I'm betting the farm no one says shit. Mr Lewis was forced to convince the officer he was an okay dude. To me that is degrading and unacceptable. The only suspicious person in the story was the stalker lady.
Unfortunately I hear stories about men being questioned in general. Our society doesn't trust men, and that distrust goes into overdrive when kids are involved.
Yeah. They said, "Kind of" which is really the only funny part of the story, in my opinion. I pictured them sucking on their soda straws, standing in the parking lot, maybe having a smoke, watching this crazy lady harass this black dude. But really to me them saying that, her saying that, is just more proof of how freaked out white people are of black men.
