Re: John Amaechi's book. I was at the mall the other day and picked it up at a bookstore, I have to say that I like it a lot. It has more to do with his life than his homosexuality. It talks about his African father who left the family and how he threatened to take he and his sisters from his mom, how his mom raised them in England, how two scouts got him into basketball, how he was depressed as a child and how his obesity made his life miserable, and his impressions of America when he came over. It's crazy how much I've learned about the guy, a lot of things happened to him. He's a really smart guy and it's worth a read. (I'm half way through it)
Re: John Amaechi's book. I got through three chapters of it in 15 mins at Borders. Seemed worth reading, I'll probably pick it up soon,.
Re: John Amaechi's book. I read an excerpt from it in ESPN and I don't think I could ever read it. I had a hard time reading it. I like the quote about how guys in the NBA were showing off their bodies and trying on each other's clothes but they were against gay people though.
Re: John Amaechi's book. Yeah, the thing that pissed me off was how ESPN marketed this sh*t like crazy because he was published by ESPN books. They always give more attention to people they have money in (IE Nascar, Carmelo Anthony), and therefore are not a credible news source.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Get A WNBA Forum Now! Re: John Amaechi's book. It's kinda annoying when people tell everyone they are gay just so that they can publicize their book.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tHe_pEsTiLeNcE @ May 9 2007, 11:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>that's why ESPN covered it more than all other news outlets combined?
