What the... Just a few days ago I was reading a statement from him saying he believed he was going to beat his sickness... That's so sad
Damn, that was sudden. There was a time where Paul Allen wasn't very popular in Portland, due to his Seattle "bias" and lack of 24/7 local presence. I hope that is 100% in the past and everyone remembers him for the steady ownership influence and widespread philanthropy.
I'm so sad and sorry that the Blazers never won a championship while he owned the team. In spite of his vast wealth, when it came to the Blazers, he was one of us. He will be missed. Today is a sad day to be a Portland Trail Blazer. BNM
Wow. I'm shocked. Can't thank that guy enough for all he's done for my Trail Blazers and Seahawks. Without a doubt one of the best owners in professional sports. And he's done so much for the world, like trying to save endangered animals and fight against poaching in Africa for example. He's given so much $$ and resources to a lot of stuff that most people dont even know about.
This is so sad, he wasn't just an owner, he was a real fan of the team, you could see him in meaningless preseason games on the road just for the love of the game and to support the team. He will certainly be missed.
Very sad for so many reasons. He was an extremely charitable human being. All the money in the world is useless.......against cancer.
Think of it this way: if he was poorer he'd've died a long time ago. And you'd've never heard of him.
One of the saddest days in sports and tech, period. Paul Allen is going to be missed for years to come. Go Blazers!
Just heard about this. Terrible news for his family and this team. We have interesting times ahead, to be sure. RIP Paul.
