The center averaged 20.4 points and a career-best 9.6 rebounds for the Pacific Division champions.Nash led the NBA in assists during the regular season with a career-high 11.6 per game. He became the first NBA player to average at least 18 points (18.6) and 11 assists since Magic Johnson in 1990-91.Former teammate Nowitzki, also making his third straight first-team appearance, led the Mavericks to an NBA-best 67-15 record. But he struggled in the playoffs, and the Mavericks became the third No. 1 seed to lose in the first round since the playoffs expanded to 16 teams and the first since the opening round became a best-of-seven in 2003.Cleveland's LeBron James, the top vote-getter for last year's All-NBA team, dropped to the second team this season. He was joined by Washington's Gilbert Arenas, Toronto's Chris Bosh and Houston's Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming. The third team was Miami's Dwyane Wade, Detroit's Chauncey Billups, Minnesota's Kevin Garnett, Denver's Carmelo Anthony and Orlando's Dwight Howard. The voting panel of writers and broadcasters in the United States and Canada voted for the three teams by position, with points awarded on a 5-3-1 basis. Also worth noting:? Since the two-conference format was instituted in 1970-71, all five members on the All-NBA first team have been from the same conference only twice -- 2000 and 2007. ? All five players on the first team are from the same conference for the first time since 2000. That season, it was Gary Payton (Seattle), Jason Kidd (Phoenix), Kevin Garnett (Minnesota), Duncan and O'Neal (Lakers). ? O'Neal is not on an All-NBA team for the first time since 1993, his rookie year. ? Duncan's nine first-team selections are the most of any active player. Only seven players have been on the All-NBA first team more than Duncan (10 times or more): Karl Malone, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bob Cousy, Jerry West, Michael Jordan, Bob Pettit and Elgin Baylor. ? Rebounding leader Garnett has not been on the first team since 2004.</div>

AI really didnt deserve an all-team THIS year. Hopefully next year Denver will mesh better together, you would think with melo, AI would be great considering he made the finals once with just dikembe mutombo. I think Denver still needs one more piece though to be a real contender, ideally a real sg.

T-mac did alot more for his team than AI did for his this year. T-Mac single-handedly carried the Rockets when Yao went down. At the time, he was being considered a nomination for MVP.

Baron > Billups and Wade this year, and he didn't make any teams.

Wade may have been injured for a lot of the season, but Baron wasn't all that healthy either. Did you see the numbers Wade put up? He definitely deserved a 3rd team selection. I didn't see enough of Billups and Baron this season to decide.

duncan played about 2000 minutes at center this year (about 72% of the time), I don't get why he's still considered a forward....

He had a nice comeback year, didn't miss as much time as AI, and quite frankly was the better and more important player.

Cabangbang isn't biased, he's definitely correct. Baron Davis had bad rep prior to the season due to injuries. Did you see him? He led the Warriors to the eight seed of the playoffs, a team that lacked chemistry due to that huge Sarunas Jasikevicus trade. It's a shame playoffs are not included in these awards.Baron Davis and Allen Iverson over Wade.

I agree about Baron having a better year then Billups for sure. Baron should have got some props for his year. And AI was out a lot for being told to stay home with Sixers then the injury. But Wade was out even more I think he played like 50 games Wade. And I think AI had better #'s then T-Mac, and deff he should have gotten it over Billups I am not saying T-Mac should not be on there.

He desreved it though, cant argue with that.I also never get why Amare gets this much recognition. Its not like he lead his team this year, I would consider Yao and Amare switching possibly.

Amare also did improve his overall game. His D and mid-range game was much better this year even though he was as...dunkalicious.
