he was still +24 for the game. He only played 26 minutes....some of that was in the 1st half
The Blazers went on a huge roll in the 1st half when Zach was in there. They shut the Lakers down for a while.....or was that all Meyers?

Laker fans walked away happy customers. On the home floor of a .598 team, they kept it close to the end. When they work LeBron into the system, they will improve. They're cooling off down there sitting in front of their air conditioners naked, feeling pretty good about their formerly awful team.

You have no idea what you are talking about. All the paint points in the 1st half were his fault?

Nurk didn’t play great on D but that’s not the problem i see with him and i understand everything you said. However, I will never understand how a 7 footer standing under the basket or within 2 feet of the basket misses as many shots as he does, he must have about a 4 inch standing vertical, there’s just no other reason to miss that many point blank shots(going back to last year and the first half tonight).

I agree he will be useful against larger lumbering centers that we play and he’ll have nights where he looks like the monster we all thought he was after we traded for him but it’s just very frustrating to see someone that big and that close to the rim not scoring with some authority, even more painful when it appears he’s actually trying to avoid contact in those situations. I’m not a Nurk hater though and I like having him on the team, especially when he flashes those abilities to dominate.

Aminu's top 10, too - only shot he made. Still, his defense seemed pretty good.

I’m convinced Aminus high didn’t wear off until the second half. He was baked out of his mind in the first half, didn’t even know what day it was, so not holding the rest against him.

Nurk isn't a leaper. He does need to go up stronger sometimes but he did shoot 50.5% last year and 50% tonight. I'm fine with that. If it improves, great! Good defense and 50% shooting is more than adequate. The thing Nurk can do to improve his finishing (and this works almost every time he does it) is when he gets into the body of the defender with his left side/shoulder while shooting with his right hand. He's so big that the defender can't really get to the ball in those situations. If he has inside position he could stick his butt out to seal his man better to get cleaner looks. I don't think it's the flipper type shots that are the problem it's that the rest of his body isn't in the right position sometimes when he attempts those shots.

Nurk looked terrible on defense tonight.

Edit: Rephrase. Nurk was hit and miss on D tonight.
