I get what you're saying, but if there were genocide in two different countries, one against a group of people because of their religion, and another against a group of people because of their race, is there really a difference? It's still genocide. It's still hatred. To me, hatred is hatred. It is based on stereotyping and ignorance. And at its core, isn't racism about feeling superior?

If I type in racism into google, I get - prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

What I'm seeing from these groups like Antifa and Patriot Prayer is prejudice against the other side. Discrimination. Antagonism directed against someone of a different value system based on the belief that their own values are superior. That is what scares me. I'm not saying what's going on is racism. It's something completely different. It's still prejudice. TBPup shared a story a while back about getting accosted in downtown Portland because he was wearing a red hat. The person thought it was a MAGA hat, but it was actually a Doernbecher hat that happened to be red. To me, that is prejudice. That's bigotry based on the idea in that person's head that their beliefs are superior.

It scares me when I hear people equating all Republicans with Nazis. I have seen people call Republicans racists (not some Republicans. All Republicans.) This kind of generalization is going down a very dark road. And again, I have to point out that Antifa and other groups in Portland were rioting loooooooong before Patriot Prayer got here. It's not like those guys showed up and Antifa answered the call. Patriot Prayer came to Portland BECAUSE of Antifa.

Serious question: where have you garnered your info about Antifa? Because that matters.

They aren't protesting about being superior at all. They protesting AGAINST the people who think they're superior.

Now, If you disagree with their tactics I'll semi agree. But I'll also invite you to do some research on the Boston tea party.

It wasn't just a bunch of angry white men throwing tea into the harbor.

    Sure.

They're killing the very people they should be killing in some people's eyes.

But you're also one who doesn't trust the government but LOVE it's enforcers, so, there's that..

Why do you think they brought the guns, for a street dance? To celebrate something Wild West way?
Of course it doesn't take much for anyone to be a better American than any of those dirt bags.

Here is an up close and personal look at Antifa.

Here is some undercover work in Antifa.

They're a bad group of people. They're not heroes. Many of them are anarchists.

I believe they have had guns at every single one of these protests. How come they haven't shot anyone? Having guns doesn't necessarily mean you're going to use them.

Watch that undercover clip above. Antifa has guns.

It's these far Right characters who started bringing guns in the first place. I remember a guy with a gun firing into a crowd of ANTIFA supporters with a handgun. Thank God, he missed.

I don't care who started it. I care that both these shit organizations are using our city as a battlefield.

Having guns is not a good sign at a demonstration.

No it's not. That's why I don't want either group in our city.

I'm not a fan of either group either, but I do think we should place our most efforts on groups like Patriot Prayer.

When it comes to blocking traffic, it it's a minor annoyance then I just go around and forget about it, but if they're blocking a route I really need to take such as one of my many medical emergencies, than I'm pissed beyond all recognition. Just to be safe, the police ought to be preventing that kind of nonsense along with the vandalism.

As for letting the two groups have at each other, they used to do that when gangs would fight one another but then the police started doing their job and prevented gangs from attacking on another. Nothing good comes from gang violence.

ANTIFA and the multitude of dangerous and violent far Right characters such as the KKK, White Supremacists, Nazis, et al, these are all just gangs and need to be dealt with as such.

Lanny, I think this type of conduct is more than a minor annoyance and these are the true Nazi's IMO.

Ive never has a crazy right winger come up to my wife or daughter with this kind of hate. And hate is what it is.
The far left has always been more in your face than conservatives and that one of the reason I left the demo.

You need to pay closer attention HG. The right wingers have caused plenty of problems and got in peoples face. They even had a person kill a female at a rally.

My wife and daughter? I've had that happen to me before and I got violent. I slugged the kid. He actually apologized right after I hit him. He mocked my wife's Asian accent. BAM, he got a taste of my anger.

I get angry like that about once every 20 or 30 years so you can see how I really try to avoid it.

Had I seen or heard someone get like that to your wife or daughter, even if I didn't know who they were, I would have gotten in between so they would have been safe.

I'm not a bad person I just feel like ANTIFA would largely fade away without some really nasty people showing up.

Edit: ps I always stand up for the defenseless.
I've got a great nephew who is the most popular kid in his school and a superstar basketball player. His dad and I tried to get him interested in our alma mater, Oregon State. Nope, he didn't want to go there. So, next we tried to interest him in North Carolina explaining they're reputation in basketball and in academics. Nope, he wanted none of that. Why? Because they discriminate against the gay young men there and he would have none of that. Mind you, he's a good looking kid who is extremely popular with the girls and very straight. He's so popular that the President of Samsung's son is one of his best friends. Now, I bring this up 'cause he also stands up for the defenseless and I'm extremely proud of him for that.

You can see my smile, as I talk about him, from there.
