What are the excuses for the below average season by Mr. Consistancy. I know he still did well, but he took a step back in terms of production. Someone has to know the reasons behind this. He didn't even make the All-Star team this year.

When the clippers rebuilt their team and made the playoffs last season, they also added a lot of veterans, so it's expected they would decline after a year or so. I think they'll compete for the playoffs still with maggette n his prime with brand, but they need some young talent to stay at the level they were on last season.

Its odd, but I just think he doesn't have enough tenacity, he reminds me of a modified Okafor, with a similar situation. just okafor landed an expansion team. Elton Brand I think is nto a 20 and 10 caliber player, or at least couldnt keep that consitency, I just think hes not keeping fit and fatigued.

He averages 20 (or 21) and 10 for his career, and he put up those numbers as a rookie. He hasn't declined or anything, this is the same old Elton Brand. The only difference is, like I stated above, that he played hard basketball all year around (regular season in 05-06, playoffs in 05-06, Team USA, training camp, regular season 06-07... takes a toll on the body, especially big men). Brand finished this season off pretty strong as well, he was fatigued for the first few months of the year with an injury plagued roster.

Let me reword, his not a dominant 20 and 10 big man, like Tim Duncan. Im just saying hes lost his tenacity, it seems he doesn't want to play anymore.
The reason why si because their starting PG, leader, adn player in the clucth was injured all year long almost(Sam Cassell) So therefore his teammates aren't giving him good looks the way Cassell does. Also he played in the summer for USA and must have been fatigued and tired. Shaun Livingston was also out too so they didn't have that many PG that knew where to "feed" or chem with the PG.
he wasnt just injured, he flat out couldnt play, and kudos to the clippers for finding a PG after Livingston broke his knee.

This has already been said before probably.Playoffs, rough 05-06 season, summer championships, then straight to training camp pretty much. Hes just tired.
