I really believe this Doc contract extension does not matter that much. It is a one-year extension basically meaning if next year goes well, Doc will come back again and maybe be here long term if we get a Durant/Oden, a good veteran point guard, and the young players start to mold into a cohesive unit. But, if the Celtics start off to a 2-10, 0-8, or just simply start off flat Doc will be out of here. If that is the case, who do you guys want to see the Celts pick up as a coach. Here are some free agent/assistant coaching possibilties....Rick CarlisleBernie BickerstaffEric MusselmanBob HillRick AdelmanMike FratelloLarry BrownTerry StottsDoug CollinsTerry PorterHerb WilliamsI'm throwing this name in here just because I would be soooooooo interested to see what he would do....The one, the only, Sir Danny Ainge

Danny would probably be a good coach..in 97/98 he led Phoenix to a 56-26 record

He's made some idiotic moves and has been cleaning up mistake after mistake since he took office here in Boston. He turned around an absolute mess of a team in Phoenix in the late 90's, I'd like to see him do it again in Boston

I agree, I would love to see Danny take over and coach the team he built. Like playa mentioned, he did a nice job in Phoenix as a head coach, I'd like to see what he could do. I don't see it happening though.

I wish Danny was just our lead scout.
