They need a story. Ridiculous games would help, of course. However, I think if we had a 10-12 game win streak, it would really help.
He has it wrapped up for sure. When do they vote? After the 4th game of the season right? Good lord people.
They VOTE for it, right? He's still playing in whats-that-town-with-the-trees-in-the-middle-of-nowhere, right? Good Lord, people.
How exactly has Layman hurt the Blazers and what about his performance in the preseason made you blind?
I love the 'supernova' games as much as anyone, but it's also nice to be consistent/dependable. Here's a look at Dame's scoring average-deviation over his career: Lower is better for consistency. In 2012-13, you could expect Dame to be within 28.7% of his scoring average. In 2017-18, he was within 23.6%. He is definitely becoming more dependable. Here's a look at the average point-deviation for some of the recent MVP winners: 2013-14 Kevin Durant, 19.1% 2014-15 Stephen Curry, 26.3% 2015-16 Stephen Curry, 26.2% 2016-17 Russell Westbrook, 26.1% 2017-18 James Harden, 22.7% Dame's number are solid in comparison to these guys. It's nice to have dependable/consistent producers on the team so you know what you can expect each night. But with that being said - I'm looking forward to Dame's next 'supernova' 50+ point outburst!
To be fair, Westbrook had a historically great season (though he wasn't really valuable to his team at time lol)
