You can't sign Rashard to a mid level exception. Plus it wouldn't do you guys any good to get another guy who wants to shoot, get some playmakers.
You'd probably need to go after Chris Webber. He'd help you guys downlow and getting boards/putbacks which you guys need. Some of thoes guys aren't even worth being a MLE IMO.

Besides we need someone down low to take the pressure and doubles off Yao, we've seen why we need that in the Jazz-Rockets series. Grant Hill could come off the bench, as you have seen our bench was horrid in the playoffs. We need someone who can come in and score when no one is producing.

He has plenty of other teams chasing him, and willing to pay more than that, no way he will sign on to be a third option at best.As for needing someone down low, Rashard Lewis would be the wrong one for that. He is a perimeter scorer that uses his jump shot, to set up most of the rest of his game. He wouldn't be down low very much at all, and if you did put him down low, it would seriously hurt your team being a better rebounding team. Finally, you said he should be your number one scoring option, which I think is wrong. Mcgrady and Yao would be the first and second scoring options, and he would be your third option should he come to the Rockets. He would pretty much be shooting himself in the foot signing the MLE to play for the Rockets, because then Lewis would be a third scoring option instead of a first or second scoring option somewhere else. He also would be signing for alot less money than he could get somewhere else. He would be stupid to sign the MLE there, and I don't think he will do it.

I don't know... but either way, I don't think Webber is what Houston needs anyway.
I doubt Francis is a free agent unless you think he's being bought out. But if he does, I think he's got the best shot at signing in Houston.Realistically on the list, I would say Atkins, Hart, Posey, Blake, Robinson, Barnes, Peterson, and Murray could show interest and fit the price range. The rest like Bibby, Wallace, Lewis don't and will get higher offers. That's if Bibby even opts, which I doubt. On the rest, I think they are more likely to stay with their respective teams.Hill to me will likely end up in Detroit or Phoenix.
I think Houston should try and get Francis if he gets bought out..but I doubt he will with his play late in season.Houston needs either a younger(than Howard) or bigger(than Hayes/Battier) PF, or a PG. I dont know what to think about Alston..some people hate him, some love him.

We def. need a point that can create for himself and drive to the basketball, two things Rafer Alston does horribly. Thats if he gets buyed out, which is most likely. However, its uncertain if he'll get to come here, if JVG remains as head coach. If he does, then we should aim for Bibby, hopefully he won't jack up shots with us.

Both Mcgrady and Yao should and would be the number one and two options. There is next to no chance he would sign on in Houston, and he would be stupid to sign on there. He will receive a bigger share of the points, somewhere besides Houston. For the MLE, he could get ALOT more money at another location.

It's still retarded, because like we said, he isn't going to sign for the MLE.
The only way I see Francis returning for the MLE is if (most importantly) JVG does indeed resign as the coach, and if nobody else offers Francis more than the MLE.
I think Francis would take MLE from Houston. Hes expressed he wants to play for them again. I think there comes a point in a players career when they dont care so much about money, but where they play. But I agree on the JVG thing.
Rockets need to get athletic down low, and need a playmaking PG. They don't necassarily need a big time player, but they need someone to fit those roles. 2 years back Bob Sura was incredible for the PG position. He hit open shots, could run the offense well, could defend, and played with grit. As for the PF position, they NEED to get more athletic. Hayes is a nice backup, and Howard is good for hitting open jumpers, but the Rockets, need an athletic, agressive big man to offset Yao's weaknesses. The Jazz exploited this weakness big time in thay series. As for who to sign and/or trade for, I have no idea. But it needs to get done. If it does, then the Rockets will be true championship contenders.
