This got me thinking....Bosh & Italian boy, will it work? two stars, both big menGasol & Oden, will it work? two NBA STARS, both are big menI can't think of any past big men duo's that have happened over the past 5 years or so and have been good and you just don't see two great big men on the same team much anymorecould this become a nba trend if it turns out well for these young guys? it's not going to be like a heekem/sampson cause that was wayyy back and it won't be like a duncan/robinson duo because david was exiting his prime at the time.so this stuff could be intresting, I can't think much cause im going to sleep now but this stuff right here is a thing on my mind atm, thoughts?
Don't forget this isn't really like a Okur, Boozer duo.. it's more of a duo of players who have the potential to be pretty big stars on the same team.Ughh I know Odon isn't in Memphis yet, but' im just thinking ahead and looking at all the possibilitys that's all.
Oden/Jefferson.....not Oden/Gasolhaha but seriously I think it's so rare because it's tough to find great big men once..let alone twice
Jermaine O'neal and Al Harrington back in 2003. Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire. It works, the teams just haven't won in the playoffs.
Their isn't much today but back I think the Wallaces of the Pistons and Okur and Boozer are OK. But their alot of teams that have big men with potential who could be a threat in the future like the Blazers with Aldridge/Randoplh

I think Gasol and Oden(or Jefferson and Oden)will both work very well. Look at Sampson/Olowajan(s/p?), Duncan/Robinson etc. Anyways, Oden isnt going to take much away from Gasols or Jeffersons offense, he will be more of a 10ppg 12rpg 3bpg type of player his rookie season most likely. Working with Gasol or Jefferson over the summer, he will probably average 16-20ppg the next season. Two big men together is nothing like two guards together. If a team could, they would ALWAYS throw the ball into the post. Its easier for everybody else with the kickouts, fouls, open shots etc.

Tyrus Thomas and Ben Wallace could be pretty good soon IMO. Both good downlow on the boards and freaks when they dunk.

I just tried quoting Austingriz, but it wouldn't work, so I'll just reply to him.How would Oden improve by learning(?) from Pau or Jefferson. First of all, Jefferson is young and is not the type of player to be teaching a young big man. Second, Pau from what I hear is mostly likely out of Memphis. If Memphis gets the 1 pick, I can almost gurantee you Pau is gone.Oden is going to put up something like 14, 10, and 2 blocks maybe a game. Not contending to lead the league in boards like Austingriz said. Oden is not going to be a go to man in the NBA, he's going to be a lot like David Robinson in the sense he will be a good scorer because of offensive rebounding, but not giving him the ball and letting him go to work. He'll be a great second option to a team. He's very raw on the blocks.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Serge @ May 13 2007, 01:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Oden 2nd option why? He is going to be a beast inside like a Shaq.</div>Oden wasn't even the first option at Ohio State. Ron Lewis was although Oden led the team in scoring. Like I said, he's going to be a second option scorer, he's still very raw. I don't see him being a go to man anytime soon. He's still under 21 mind you...

Oden has no go to move, and to be a go to guy in the NBA you at least need that. I'm telling you watch, he is not going to be that great of a scorer in the NBA.

He is going to be like most rookies lack because they are young, NBA expierince. There will prob. never be another Shaq in a long time. Shaq had a BIG body, dominant, and had skills, jsut his injuries slowed him down during his career. Now Oden will develop I see him being a 23ppg/12rpg/3bpg and his rookie season like everyone else says 14/10/2. If he goes to the Celtics I can see him 10/10 because of so many options on offense like Pierce, Jefferson, Shooters, so he prob wont get it that much there. But at Memphis he could make an impact. If Pau Gasol leaves then he will get more touches and be an option behind Miller and MAYBE Gay.

Hes still raw right now, but he has a very nice hookshot, and he'll most likely go to Boston or Memphis...both have great lowpost scorers gor him to work with.
