Starting with the 1999/2000 season.I'm talking regular season. So if they won a title that year, it doesn't matter or add to their resume for that year in this thread. I think you could make an argument for many different players during many different seasons but I have to personally go with Kobe Bryant in 05/06. He scored 81 points in a game -- the second highest total in NBA history next to Wilt Chamberlain.Stats for Kobe in 05/06: 35.4 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.5 APG, 1.8 SPG on 45% shooting from the field and 85% from the lineHonorable mentions:Tim Duncan in 02/03Shaquille O'Neal in 99/00Kevin Garnett in 03/04Steve Nash in 06/07Jason Kidd in 02/03

Ben Wallace had some sick seasons defensively. I cannot name any specific years, but they were there.

I agree with all those... but as far as Iverson goes, that 33-7 season was impressive, but I think his 2001 MVP campaign was more impressive overall (even though he didn't put up better stats) because he carried that team offensively, and of course they made it to the Finals...But, I'd have to agree with POTG on this one, Kobe's 05/06 season is the best since the year 2000.

I have to go with 02-03 KG actually. It was an insane season that isn't given as much credit as it should. 23 ppg, 13.5 rebounds per game, 6 assists per game, 1.5 blocks per game, 1.5 steals per game.Do you know how many players this season led their team in points-rebounds-assists-steals-and blocks in the same game? Three. KG, Kidd, and Baron. Kevin Garnett AVERAGED that in 02-03, leading his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks for the season. The last guy to do that was Michael Jordan in 1985 if I'm not mistaken. And it wasn't as if he was doing this for a 35 win team, this was a 51 win team that he was so thoroughly above everybody on.In 2003, when KG was on the court his team outscored the other team by 6 points per 48 minutes. When he was off the court, the other team outscored the twolves by over SEVENTEEN points per 48 minutes. In other words, with him they were over a 50 win team, without him they would have easily been the worst team in the entire league.

Last year 33/7, and the season before that when I thought he should have won with 31/7 but finished 4th behind Nash, Shaq, and I think Dirk.Kobe 05/06 was deff not the best since 2000

Personally I'd go with 2002-2003 for Kobe. If 30/7/6 isn't enough to wow you, remember that he was an All NBA defensive first teamer as well. He didn't get this on reputation or anything like he has this year and last, he was downright tenacious on D. If miraculous averages and amazing defense doesn't do it, remember that he had to carry the team thru Shaq's absence and rehabilitation, and had one of the more spectacular streaks in history with that run of 9 straight 40+ point games. He was at his athletic peak. He could shoot, he dunked on everybody. He defended. He lead the team. What else can you ask from a player?
