Just curious, tlong. If baseball comes here....
Why do you give a shit? The sport has existed in some form in PDX since it was a major west coast city. It would figure at some point to show up again, even if it wasn't permanent. Now if a bunch of Aliens from Outer Space built a test cricket grounds in the middle of Providence Park.... I'd understand if you were reasonably pissed.

Because it doesn't rain in Oregon in the Summer.

Of course, it might come in handy for the World Series ;)

Man, that'd have to be one hell of a marketing campaign! They'd probably be found guilty of breaking truth in advertising laws, and any team profits (ha!) would be lost to a class action lawsuit.

I'm not pissed at all. Just giving my much sought after opinion on the subject. People bring up the name Craig Cheek as some sort of evidence that the project is well funded. Craig Cheek is wealthy, but he's not MLB owner wealthy. Even if the project is well-funded I see little chance of it succeeding.

It's not just bringing up the name "Craig Cheek".
Here is the disclosure : https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1720090/000159140817000022/xslFormDX01/primary_doc.xml

Now why would a dude with that reputation be in it this far? He has a reputation number of 3.9 out of 4 on the books. This is the actual securities form. He doesn't have to be that wealthy. He only has to be part of a group that is and can get financing. It's how people who are not that wealthy GET THAT WEALTHY!

I would say football is the despised sport if anything. Serve a ton of microbrews, local food fare like Providence Park and the RG, and have some actual cheap seats for a summertime event? I think there would be a big draw, not to mention there are a ton of tourists coming to Portland these days. Lastly, the Moda Center sucks for concerts, I've been to Safeco to see Tom Petty and Pearl Jam the last two summers, was a blast. Be soo nice to actually have a solid venue to draw in big acts.

With a clear retractable cover! That would rock, year 'round!

Kind of depends on what the acoustics would be like with it closed, though.

Women’s soccer has about 12 home games. Baseball has 81.

It tells you that he is in fact the manager of Portland Diamond project. And that they do in fact have equity to back up the securities they are proposing to have. That is why it's called a security and exchange notice of exempt offering. Try to keep up here. This id Form D. It is filed federal. That means in Washington DC in case you can't read it. It tells you that it is an LLC (Limited Liability Corporation)
Now if you want me to tell you what Securities he is selling i cant do that because they have not been sold as of yet. But it does seem to me that he is using something as a form of collateral to get leverage.

Again this man has a 3.9 respectability rating out of 4.0 He is not going to pull out and leave a bunch of people hanging if he wants to hold onto his reputation. You do realize what Reputation rating is all about right? Don't look to Donald Trump to show you a good one. It ain't there.
