Sry Boston fans, but we needed one. I was talking about this in the other thread. We have two options IMO, go for a big center (which I believe there is not a big FA market for) or go for a SF. Where theres two viables options.Corey Maggette, and Rashard Lewis:-both 10 mil and under- magette excellent slasher we need- rashard quick SF great shooter- I like magettes size, versatile, can post up-lewis can average up to 20 ppgI think corey would be the better option. better defender, bigger body, less money.
I wouldn't go out and blow a bunch of money on Corey Maggette who is pretty unreliable. Instead of going after and wasting most of your money on one player, I'd go after a couple 'solid' players who will give you more depth that you need.

I would like Rashard better as well. But we sure as hell need a slasher. Magette is also cheaper than Lewis, hes only 8 million a year, which I think hes more than happy with, part of the reason I think hes staying in LAC to today.

You guys need more depth, signing Maggette to a big deal is a mistake in my opinion. I don't think Colangelo would do it, I hope that he picks up a couple good rotational players. You guys do need a 20ppg type scorer on the wing, but this year you've proven you can get around it. When I look at your roster, adding depth and a couple smart contracts is key.
I also think that's a waste of money...Bargnani is coming into his own....so is TJ Ford...Bargnani will be a very nice second option...we shouldn't blow 10-12 million a year to get a guy who will score you 17-20 when you already have a guy that will get you that in the next year or two...Colangelo is a smart man....He always finds diamonds in the rough...We do need a swingman in place of Mo. It is pretty obvious that Mo wants PT, and Sam just doesn't want to play him for whatever reason. I think we need a guy who can shoot a little bit, someone who is strong, and can drive, isn't afraid to go grab rebounds...and defensive ability is obviously a plus.We also need a rebounder. Besides Bosh, no one on our team can rebound the ball. I think we need an Anderson Varejao type guy....a workhorse..I think we were last or 2nd last in rebounding, so we definitely need some help there.

First we do not have the cap space to sign a big name like a Maggette or Rashad Lewis, even if it was a sign and trade I doubt Colangelo would do that since Bosh and Ford's contracts kick in soon.More viable options include:Sasha PavlovicMatt BarnesMickael PietrusAndres NocioniThese are some guys we can afford with MLE type money.

I trust Colangelo that he will do whatever is best for the franchise and he wont break up to core, that being said a player that I would love for the Raptors to go chasing is Andres Nocioni!! Derrick Martin, Peterson, Sow and Graham are probably not coming back next season, Roko Ukric is most likely coming over from Barcelona and being our 3rd string PG. I wouldnt really wanna go out and throw out money at a player like Maggette as he is GAURANTEED to miss a bunch of regular season games due to his injuries.
Andres NocioniPerfect fit right there. Veteran leader who can shoot, score, rebound, defend, provide toughness and play three posistions. And I bet you could get him for a relatively low price.

we could go after jason kapono- cheap price, swingman, and an excellent 3 point shooter. He can attack from the wing too. And about Nocioni, he's probably going to get quite abit of offers as well. That and the bulls would resign him immediately
Nocioni and Pavlovic look like good options to me. Nocioni is good for us because he can play the 4, 3 or 2 and can grab rebounds and is a good defender. He can also give us 12-15 ppg. Pavlovic could be like what Nachbar was for the Nets. A 7th man that comes off the bench and shoot threes. If Mo Pete leaves, the Raps should pursue a guy like Pavlovic.

They extended Hinrich recently and will have to extend Deng and Gordon soon. I know they don't want to pay the lux. tax so they may just see what offers he gets, if they are low offers they will match. If a high offer comes from a team they may just let him walk. All Raptors have is the MLE and the Bulls will match that in a instant. So we can pretty much cross him off the list unless we do some sort of sign and trade.

Kind of like a rich man's Garbajosa if you think about it...He's hardnosed, aggressive, likes to attack, but he also has some decent shooting touch...He'd be a good fit...definitely.
We've got a lot of players who can shoot and all. We need a player who can get us rebounds and play good defense. We have enough players who can score for us. The problem with our team is our rebounding, maybe defense as well.
