If you see "buttercakes" as calling you soft, that's on you. I've never heard the term before, and it certainly doesn't communicate any personal characteristics to me. I saw it as nothing more than a sarcastic team of endearment, as though he had called you "sweetie". I can't be held responsible for how you interpret another poster's gibberish, nor do I deserve to be accused of "bias" because I perceive something differently than you do. I do find it amusing that Cup himself has accused me of being biased against him, and now you accuse me of being biased for him. Kinda supports my feeling that I'm objective.
Cup joined the forum way back in the day when there was a first migration from OregonLive but didn't post here until Oregonlive closed their forum. I wouldn't call him an old schooler. If you look at posting over a consistent span of time you would be the senior member.
I don't see anything wrong with my title or my response to bailey. No rules have been broken. Nobody is forced to respond in a thread. If a poster opens a thread based on the title and doesn't like the context then they can easily pass it by. I do it quite often.
I can't speak for whether or not anyone is biased; I speak only for myself. I'm not. I edit posts that I see as attacking another person's character, regardless of who it is or how long they've been around. Don't put on me what you've seen from others. I'm not them. I'm me. And yes, he's poking. Digging. And it's not a TOS violation. I'm not in the habit of going around telling people "You're going to upset people by posting that way". I don't do it to you, and I don't do it to him. What I DO do is edit direct insults, and sometimes tell people that I did and why. Yes, I think that there are certain people on here who post abrasively, and often intentionally so. But guess what--we're all adults, and we all have control over how we respond to others' unpleasantness. You can choose to fire back with insults, or you can choose to let them pass. Whichever way you choose to respond is up to you, but if your responses include insults, they will be edited. This should not come as a surprise to you or anyone.
