I can trace my cultural heritage back to about 800 through offical documents and numerous countries. How many black people from the US can trace theirs farther back than 1800 or so?

It didn't define his whole life. The constant experience defined his outlook on racism. It started when he was six, not ended when he was six.
I've seen it all the time. I was one. Of course I was a small child when I was a racist. I had the good sense to grow up.

Great. We agree. Hallelujah. But then why don't true patriots - those who truly love America - some of them may be politicians on the right, let's be honest, why don't they completely and totally denounce - not only denounce, but more aggressively - put these fake patriots in their place and end the bullshit? Why doesn't Trump do that? Does he not love America?

Shame how they didn't learn from that and enslaved people after that experience.

    The bible reinforces this mantra.

You can't actually reason with someone who calls themselves a "patriot" while flying nazi/confederate flags. They are impervious to rational thought.

As for the Trumpy loving America - you are talking about a sick man who loves nothing but himself. If you told him he could win votes by deporting his wife and youngest child, he would do it in a heartbeat.

That isn't always what happens. There are black racists that say racist things all the time. People ignore that every time. They don't get doxxed and fired.

The tiki torch nazi idiots have every right to spew their idiotic ideas on every public street in America.

Nobody has the right to punch them.

You're free to do so and face the consequences.

The actual Nazis we WERE at war with you could certainly punch. You could kill them.

I have been on vacation over here for a couple weeks and I’m very curious how Europe differs from the US in how they integrated black people into their society for the past couple hundred years. I know racism exists over here. I remember reading about soccer fans throwing bananas at a black player a few years back. But I’m curious how it compares in terms of the black community feeling like it’s part of society. Do they have the same issues with police?

This seemed like a decent place for this, and unworthy of its own thread. Dem-vs.-Dem...I know that Daily Caller is not the most robust of MSM sources, so I included tweets...
    1. Insert your favorite Ron Burgundy tagline here.
    2. Why, in this day and age, would anyone with their own name on a twitter account, open themselves up like Mr. Bishop and Mr. Grimes did? You asked for it..."here's your sign"
    3. Do you think that the radio ad screamed desperation as much as I think it did?
    4. Giving her credit for going on Fox News to campaign (which is probably one reason why the world knows about this--I doubt Don Lemon is asking followups about 'crazy Democrats'), but why?

It is Europe and has many lakes containing my favorite eating fish, the fresh water perch. It is also the home to my hunting rifle, the .270 Sako as well as the home to one of my nurses.
I've always wanted to see Finland. Of course, no. 1 on my destinations is Germany because I speak German, which was recommended to me by my high school counselor because of my interest in engineering.
Now, I'm afraid that any travel is highly difficult, at best. I'd need to have a fully equipped hospital nearby and make difficult arrangements. This makes even travel to other states very difficult. The farthest I venture is a day excursion to Ft. Lewis for trips to the commissary and PX about once a year.

My sister went to Moscow for 5 months and worked. It's racist as SHIT there. The fact that Africa has been raped to death of people and resources tells me we're pretty hated all over.

I couldn't attest personally to the treatment overall in Europe.

    Can't imagine it's good tho.

I haven't had fresh water perch in over half a century. I used to go fishing often as a child. Kind of got out of it after we moved to Portland.

I have visited Scandinavia a long time ago. Norway is the most beautiful place I have seen - looks a bit like the Kenai peninsula in Alaska (same land features, Norway has prettier houses and cities, Alaska is on a grander scale). Finland is very nice, they have fantastic smoked fish there and the people are great (not to mention that it is the birthplace of some of the best racing drivers ever to walk the earth). My main memory of driving in Finland was how relaxing it was after Norway. Where in Norway they go around the mountains and fjords - which makes it tons of fun but very tiring, in Finland they just go through the mountains.

Damn it, I want to go there again now.

On of the funniest things there is that when they agree with you they suck the air in and it sounds like they are scared. Let's just say it is "Hhhoo" - in Denmark the will go "Hhhoo", in Sweden they will do "Hhhoo yo" and in Norway and Finland they will go "Hhhoo aha".

    You mean Lake No Negro?

They made that name up, not me.

I can trace my lineage to the man that owned our family.

His name was Durrett White. He lived in Kentucky.

A neglectful black man and a racist white man is the reason I dropped the last name White.

I never say an African-American in Oswego ever and never saw one in Lake Oswego until the late 70s. In fact, I can't recall the last time I saw an African-American in Lake Oswego unless you want to count my ambulance driver who loves to talk Blazer basketball with me. A terrific guy well liked by the other patients in my ward. But, what the heck, he's just a guy like any other guy, some good some bad. Fortunately for me, all the ambulance drivers are very nice. Makes my medical misery a tad more tolerable.
