my post was not a joke. you may disagree with me but there is no reason to be rude. in my opinion there is certainly a case to be made by his lawyer that he was in fear of this kid due to the kid escalating the situation physically. assault with the basketball. the attempts to intimidate. while the timing does appear suspect, and he probably shouldnt have retaliated, saying that there isnt a conceivable argument that he was in fear for his safety is rather closed minded.
The claim of the student making "attempts to physically intimidate" makes it impossible for me to take your posts seriously. There was absolutely nothing of the sort. And I'm sorry that you are offended by me finding your posts ridiculous. No rudeness was intended. It would simply be dishonest for me to pretend that I was taking those statements seriously.

Because a judge does the sentencing. Maybe he gets judge who appathizes with him. Maybe he gets one throws the book at him.
you must have missed it in the video, the kid assaults him by throwing the basketball at him, and then he does that little lunge thing at him, trying to jump scare him as the kids say. trying to physically intimidate him. maybe thats why you are having such a hard time. if you are having an argument with someone, and you throw a basketball at them, is that assault? by letter of the law?
so its almost as if there is some amount of interpretation involved. i mean, it was wrong, but how wrong?
So, was all that before or after the teacher walked to the other side of the room, and then walked back to be in close physical proximity to the person you claim "assaulted and intimidated" him? If you're "in fear for your safety", you don't slowly, calmly walk over to and stand next to the source of that fear. He did, because he wasn't.
I'm against violence against children unless it's a particularly large child who intends someone bodily harm. I'll say this once and then never again, Children should not be heard from or seen . . . ever again.
This guy will never teach again...had his classroom rage moment..made a choice..a bad one..he had a teaching opportunity and chose the low road
