No. 6 Gonzaga takes on upstart BYU for WCC Championship

Killian Tillie is on quite a roll in Las Vegas.

In two games, the 6-foot-10 sophomore forward has made all 10 of his 3-point attempts, scored 50 points and made 19 of 23 shots from the floor, leading Gonzaga to its 21st consecutive West Coast Conference Tournament final.

The No. 6 Zags (29-4) will face No. 3 seed BYU, which upset second-seeded Saint Mary's 85-72, on Tuesday at the Orleans Arena.

No. 6 Gonzaga beats BYU 74-54 for sixth straight WCC title

Gonzaga seemed headed for a dog fight with BYU to get a sixth straight West Coast Conference title. Once the Bulldogs started soaring, there was no stopping them.

Racing out for dunks and 3-pointers in transition, No. 6 Gonzaga overwhelmed BYU during a massive run to blow out the Cougars 74-54 on Tuesday night for its sixth straight WCC tournament title.

Norvell Jr. makes key 3 to help Gonzaga escape UNCG 68-64

Zach Norvell Jr. watched Gonzaga's greatest moments play out from the sideline last year.

This year, the redshirt freshman will be part of the highlight reel.

The shooting guard from Chicago hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 20.8 seconds left Thursday to help the fourth-seeded Bulldogs escape a major scare in the West Region with a 68-64 victory over UNC Greensboro.

Gonzaga beats Ohio State 90-84 for Sweet 16 return

Zach Norvell Jr. pulled up for 3-pointers, drove fearlessly to the rim and bulled his way into the trees to snare rebounds.

A spectator during Gonzaga's Final Four run a year ago, the confident, extroverted freshman could be the ticket for a return trip.

Norvell had 28 points, hit six 3-pointers and grabbed 12 rebounds, leading Gonzaga back into the Sweet 16 with a 90-84 victory over Ohio State in the West Region on Saturday night.

Gonzaga's Killian Tillie has surgery for stress fracture in ankle




Third-ranked Gonzaga will be without forward Killian Tillie for up to eight weeks after the junior had surgery for a stress fracture in his ankle.

Gonzaga coach Mark Few announced Tillie's injury on Tuesday. Tillie aggravated the ankle injury during fall practice and additional imaging revealed the stress fracture.

 

Hachimura leads No. 3 Gonzaga over Idaho State

Gonzaga rode a strong effort from Rui Hachimurato open the season with a rout.

Hachimura scored 33 points to help the third-ranked Bulldog to a 120-79 win over Idaho State in the season opener for both teams Tuesday night.

Brandon Clarke provided the spark that third-ranked Gonzaga needed.

Norvell lifts No. 3 Gonzaga over Texas A&M 94-71

Gonzaga was flying up and down the court in the first half against Texas A&M, taking hurried shots, and coach Mark Few was not pleased.

At halftime he told his team to slow down, and the No. 3 Bulldogs responded by blowing out the Aggies 94-71 on Thursday night.

Norvell's 28 points rallies No. 1 Zags past Creighton 103-92

Gonzaga's Zach Norvell Jr. got off to a slow start against Creighton for the second year in a row. Like last year, he finished with a flurry.

Hachimura's shot lifts No. 1 Gonzaga over Washington 81-79

In the closing seconds of a tie game, Gonzaga guard Josh Perkins dribbled out high looking for somewhere to pass the ball.

He spotted Rui Hachimura near the free throw line.

"They left Rui open where he is automatic," Perkins said.

Hachimura sank a turnaround jumper with 0.6 seconds left, lifting the top-ranked Bulldogs to an 81-79 victory over in-state rival Washington on Wednesday night.
