Maybe if Knute had lost in the primary to the Ebola virus...

And the Ebola virus ran against Kate Brown for Governor...

Maybe then I could vote for her...

Nah, still gotta go with the lesser of 2 evils.

Exactly my point. You have to compare the options, not just say 'the current one sucks so we should change'.

Not surprised to hear that the Ebola virus is Republican.

The problem with Oregon's Public School Education goes way deeper than the Governor. A person could literally write a 1,000 page tome and not cover the subject sufficiently well enough.

The Governor is just one part of the multifaceted problem that happens to include the Oregon Department of Education and the local school boards.

You left that opinion open enough that I can agree with you.

Once you were not stuck with poorly run schools. You could run for the school board and make some changes or you could move to where schools were run better. None of that works now.

Basically the school districts spend the same per student all over the state. What does that get you? Nothing really but the appearance of
equal effort. But it is not even close. Oregon's immigration policy which they are not suppose to have, exacerbated the problems horribly. But if you keep at them I am sure the Dems will have an answer within 50 years or so. Will you give them that long?

There is nothing stupid about it. People are voted into an office they want to occupy and are actually paid to do. A. Job. Period. It’s not my job.

Do you have opinions on the Blazers? How dare you. I mean it’s not your job. I can have opinions on Kate Brown and fucking tents all over the city. I do not by any means know everything about Knute Beuhler. But from what I gathered he just might have done something differently than our useless Kate Brown. I get it. You had personal reasons for liking her. Great. I still won’t call you stupid or an idiot.

So you would deny a child a chance at an education? It's not their fault they are legal or illegal? But you're solution is hey, let's fuck over the most innocent and vulnerable in all of this.

Hey, why not give them to child molesters. It's not like they really matter and it would save the good American kids from those predators.

Certainly not, they should return to their country and register post haste.

If you're standing in a freeway lane near a curve with a semi bearing down on you at 90 miles an hour do you jump into the other lane even though you can't see if there's traffic in that lane? :dunno:

Sure. There's a rational reason to believe that choice is better.

This isn't a solution. This is the equivalent of me saying that the answer to PERS is just to invest better. You're essentially saying people need to just stop being assholes. That's about as likely as people not being greedy or selfish or immature or just plain stupid.\

Also, why do you need to resort to name calling? Is that really called for?

Do not change your original statement unless you admit you're wrong.
Why would any teacher complain to a child about having to spend their salary on the classroom?
It didn't happen in the 60's like you said. However it most certainly doesn't happen today.

This is not a debate, this is you being flat wrong. Then trying to hide your false assertion by changing the subject.
Just another day in the life of the OT section on this forum.

In that case, they probably won't accept the low pay.
Which costs more, the reasonable pay or the more lavish retirement benefit?

    Man.. My bad.. I'm sorry...

But you ask me that silly question when you already know my stance.

You still don't seem to get what I'm saying... It's shit like this man...

I'm just pointing out that it's silly to tell me that I personally need to come up with a solution to major problem if I want to bitch about it. That's all I'm trying to point to.

It sure was risked and NOTHING was done about it. These are why I question the mods when it comes to dviss. Seems he has some sort of free pass just do spout whatever he wants. Now I haven't cared to post in the OT for a while because politics are fucking dumb and the clear reason why people are so crazy in this country these days but I will call this shit out because it has gone on and on and nobody sets this dude straight. Like a child not getting what he wanted and throwing a fit in the middle of toys r us.

    Flawed.

It's easy to bitch about something and point blame.

It's harder to say let's find a solution.

So, to sit and complain, about something that's more than likely not even effecting you, and point blame just arbitrarily saying it's the dems fault instead of saying:

"republicans should take over and they should do "this".

Whatever the fuck "this "would be, who knows. But please come with your "this"... Until then it's just whining about a problem that hasn't caused you one iota of detriment.

    Bottom line:

To me it sounds like you want to cut people's pensions....

Didn't they go under a few years back? Perhaps that is the reason.
