I've been thinking about this for a while. We have had some of the most dramatic and frustrating finishes to seasons over the last 4.In 2004 we were on top of the world after winning the Western Confernce Championsip. Most saw the Lakers breezing past Detroit in 4 or 5 games. But Detroit manhandled the Lakers and beat them 4-1.In 2005 we were at 32-29 after Kobe hit a gamewinner against Charlotte. Even after Rudy leaving, things looked to be okay. But injuries and implosion caused the team to go an abysmal 2-19 in their final 21 games and miss the playoffs. In 2006 we were up 3 games to 1 after some more Kobe heroics. With the Clippers in round 2, it looked like we were destined to go back to the conference finals. But the Suns arose and came back, winning in 7 games. In 2007 we were 30-19 at one point. This was impressive because Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown had been out for over a month each. The Lakers looked prime to make some noise come playoff time. But more injuries and heading out onto the road had the Lakers finish the season 12-23, stumbling into the postseason where they lost in 5 games to the Suns.It should be noted that every time this happened the Lakers were having injury problems (except 2006), but still, it's been a sh*tty few years.

Then lost game 5 by a missed Horry shot and lost game 6.</div>Yeah, but that wasn't a collapse. It was impressive to come back from being down 0-2 and in Game 5 we were down by like 18 and nearly came back to win it. The Spurs were the better team that year, they deserved it.

It took a huge amount of clutch shooting just to get to the point where Horry had a shot to win it.
ughh dont remind me of game 6 of that series when Kobe and Fisher started crying when the clock was ticking just a bad moment I didnt enjoy :no1:
It's hard to maintain any level of consistancey with so many injuries. A young team like the Lakers really doesn't have the experience to handle it.

This was probably Phil's worst coaching job in years. I think the magic is wearing off.
