<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Good thing for the Kings other teams have their own problems to address. Los Angeles LakersGoing pedal to the metal, after failing to reach the second round or the playoffs at all for the third time in as many years, isn't just about adding a star to ride shotgun to Kobe Bryant. While that is the obvious part of it, putting them in the middle of any discussion for Kevin Garnett or Jermaine O'Neal, the Lakers on the whole are pushing hard to win now and deal with potential complications later. The Lakers could offer Kwame Brown in a match of similar salaries. The Kings would inherit the frustration of an enigmatic player unable to grasp his considerable potential, but also the benefit of being able to clear cap space a year earlier than with Artest if Brown did not work out. And if Brown did work out, they would have the inside track on re-signing a talented young center. The Lakers also could offer Luke Walton in a sign-and-trade, packaged with another, lesser salary (Sasha Vujacic, Maurice Evans, Brian Cook). Artest has superior skills. But Walton has become a good complementary weapon, a smart player who moves the ball, and plugs in to the same spot at small forward.</div>http://www.sacbee.com/100/story/177884.htmlThis is all speculation at this point. Although, if we can get Artest for either Kwame or Luke, heartbeat decision...at least I hope so. Discuss. :dribble:
Nope, don't want him. He's already messed up 2 teams. Why should we be the third? He got his chance and he did nothing with it. He can rot in Sacramento, the Lakers don't need his drama.

Besides, if we can dump Kwame for an all-star caliber player like Artest, whose defense especially would help, we would be crazy not to pull the trigger. Though, I still want to see us go after Corey Maggette...but I haven't really seen any rumors on that. That's just what I would like.

He's proven it on two different teams and he's been given numerous chances, but he never learns. Don't bring up the fact that Phil contained Rodman because it was a totally different situation. Rodman was a weird guy off the court but on it he was a workhorse who did whatever it took to win. He sacrificed himself for the team, he didn't destroy it like Artest.
I think Artest is another version of Terrell Owens. Now we know Owens isn't that bad of a guy. So I would want him.
I say we trade Kawme for another big guy. I don't think the Laker's would need another SF like Artest, that totally Disregards Odom, who is one of the best SF in the league. Plus I agree with ChuckTheD<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Jesus couldn't contain Ron Artest. He's a headcase. He's already screwed up 2 teams, and the Laker's are screwed up right now as it is. They don't need another liability to the team.
Outside of defense, I don't like this idea. Forget all of the attitude problems off the court...he hurts your team offensively. He will want a big role as a scorer, and with Kobe that won't fly (along with the fact that he shoots a crappy %). Go for KG, then add complimentary players. I don't like the idea of getting Artest.
If Artest does come to LA he should know that LA county jails are a lot tougher than the ones up north.
