I just received in the mail today an alumni ID card for Portland State. I didn't want to pay the approx. $50 fee to obtain it but then I saw a recent e-mail that said such ID cards were free for former Veterans who graduated from PSU. I applied and received it today. The ID card appears to be virtually useless, allowing me discounts on crap I never use but just the fact that they gave me the ID card and the cost was free kind of makes me feel good. Any other Vets out there that graduated from PSU? Apply for your free PSU alumni ID card. What a nice way to touch this Vet's heart.
long, long story...but I could only scrape together enough for 1 semester at UP. Blew the wad trying for a 3yr ROTC scholarship. Joined the Marines at Christmas break.
I took a couple graduate classes from U of P. 500 level electronic classes. I can't remember, might have been as many as four or five classes in the 500 level. I already had a bs in electrical and computer engineering from OSU. Got my PSU degree in Computer Science. Go ahead, ask me about diffusion current across the base of a bipolar transistor or ask me about the parasitic capacitance in an IC to the substrate. Now, ask me about top/down software design or ask me about bottom/up design. Okay, let's go further, how about the use of 3X5 cards to do object oriented design. I feel like all this stuff is starting to slip now that I can't really do much of anything any more. But, dammit, I've got my Alumni ID card and for a man my age I really don't drool much.
