I don't think anyone can ever replace Wheels, I miss him on the air. I hope he's doing well and recovery is going great for him. With all that said, I think we should all be thankful for the job Travis Demers has done. I watch most of the games, but every single time I've heard him calling the games, he's done a very a good job. That's a really tough job, and an easy one to screw up. Not really sure this is "thread worthy" but I just wanted to take a chance to say if he ever (he probably wont) see's this that I appreciate the job he's done.
I don't listen to radio much... But wonder why they don't just use the tv broadcast audio. Colabro is a play by play guy.
Like TBF said, different roles. Radio needs to describe more of the action, calabro recognizes that you can see what's happening. So there's more leniency on the quick play by play. Like, radio will go...Lillard dribbling top of the key, pick by nurk, kicks out to aminu, aminu hesitates, now dribbles, kicks back out to dame. Dame a long 3...got it! And TV will get half of that, because, I can see aminu hesitate, it's too much for TV. And TV, likewise, not enough for radio. Sometimes our TV guys will quiet for a moment. That doesn't work for radio either, obviously
I think they've done a great job subbing in...Travis makes a lot of mistakes on play by play..usually with who the player was and he jumbles stats and numbers a bit but it can't be an easy job to be the play by play caller...Casey is vastly improved on the microphone over the old days
