I’m of the belief that people who don’t want children are shitty parents. Don’t make them contribute MORE shittiness to the world. We have enough.
It's a free country and you're welcome to your point of view. However, I find mine to be morally principled. Ordering someone to not perform or receive an abortion on penalty of law is When I moved back to Lake Oswego, I had to get the address changed on my driver's license. I was in and out of the branch at Mt. Park in no more than an hour and a half. When I bought my last car in 2005 I went to my local DMV at the Tanasbourne Mall and was in and out in less than 2 hours. I don't think I've been in and out of a DMV in Oregon, Washington or Missouri in less than half an hour ever. Oh wait, maybe 50 years ago.
An obvious part of the problem is that one side cites theology, while the other is debating the appropriate limits of government power. I am not "pro-abortion", but I am not willing to give that power to the government and I sure as hell am unwilling to give churches that kind of power!
My Church doesn't want that power. We leave it up to the woman to decide what she thinks is best. I don't think we'll ever reach an agreement on this issue. There are, in my opinion, valid arguments on both sides. I just tend to lean one way more than the other. Those of you who violently disagree are just going to have to live with it.
