Good question. Maybe it's because you're a handy scapegoat.

My post was about Trump. You then wrote about him being a nice guy and well mannered and realized something was very wrong!

The author of the thread was Mags. If you wanted to talk about Trump, I suggest you mention his name. I was referring to the subject of the thread, you were not. Hence, the confusion.

The water level in the oceans has little to do with the amount of rain or snow. This is extremely simplified thinking. It's the surface area that matters. Evaporation, the source of rain water, happens at the surface and not below the surface.
The problem with drought and excessive rain has to do with the turbulence created in the atmosphere. Increased turbulence means increased drought and rain in differing areas. We have been noticing the droughts in different areas of the Earth for some time now. Africa is getting hit hard with drought.

Meanwhile, we are rapidly losing our source of drinking water due to disappearing glaciers. People are dying in Africa.

But don't take my word for it, I'm an electrical engineer. How about relying on the experts in the field at NOAA and NASA? Oh yeah, our brilliant President is cutting their budgets to study such things and even forbidding them to talk about it.

Because somebody in the scientific community didn't get one detail right means that the other 99% is false? Tell me this, are we losing sea ice or not? If not then why is the ocean level rising?

Go back a page and re read it. I don’t know how it can be confusing. Anyway it’s irrelevant.

    Yeah, EVERYTHING IS GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!!!!!

If you gave 1 shit about global warming you would not have any technology in your life. Only a massive hypocrite would own a phone and pc and use transportation the internet and the television and radio and listen/play electronic music and cooking food heating home wear clothing live in a home work in an office....

Practice what you preach if you expect to have an audience for your sermon.

Only the Amish can credibly speak on the subject.

Now that's a very ignorant take, but one that doesn't surprise me from you. Are you going to go out and rake the forests surrounding LaPine? lol

Hey! I just looked at a navigation chart of the Bering Strait between Cape Prince of Wales Alaska and Cape Dezhneva Sibera where the Diomede Islands are located. The deepest depth
of the ocean between those two capes is 51 meters. So that must be a pretty good indicator of just how much the seas have risen in the past 18000 years. Men walked across there
at some point less than 18000 years ago, more like 11000 years ago I think. So the rate on average is 16 feet per Milena. That means the rise is really slowing way down since it is now in inches per every 1000 years.

    Now contemplate this fact.
When the ocean level reaches a stable level, the current flows will cease, nothing for the Coriolis effect to work with. Without the Thermal transfer from the warm tropics to the Northern latitudes, it will will be a tough place to live without the warming currents.
Perhaps it will Ice over. Just a guess.

Go flush your toilet, which direction does it spin when sitting there at standard level?

There are plenty of things human beings can do to curb the destruction of the environment. We need not all turn Amish. We could do a lot of things that would help. Or we could just keep doing what we’re doing and let it spiral and fuck over all future generations.

Here’s what I don’t get: people who don’t think humans have caused this. Ok. Let’s say you are right. So it’s not our fault it’s just happening. But we still have been told by scientists throughout the world we could do some things to help. Why not? Instead it’s just “it’s not my fault so I don’t want to help”?

You may not know but it was. I couldn't see where you were referencing anyone but the author of the thread. Had you said Trump, I would not have been mislead.
