We do have TPE that we can trade for him. I would waived Baldwin if they do that and the reason why Baldwin because last game when he turnover the ball all he did was jog back and I don't think he is that good.
For all this talk about process, Philly sure messed up a bunch of chances with the Fultz/Okafor/Noel picks. They fell ass backwards into Simmons and Embiid. Talk about fluke.
I think this trade would stand a chance of being agreeable to all parties: Sixers get Rozier to replace two PGs, so they can give him plenty of minutes and he won't be there to kill them in the playoffs. Suns get a shot at a backcourt mate for Booker, and can play uptempo which might help Fultz. And if not, no matter: they offloaded their own bust-like high lottery pick. Celtics were going to lose Rozier anyway, get a very solid defensively-minded backup PG for now, and a potential multi-position player of just the kind that Stevens has shown a knack for developing. However, granted that the Celtics are probably the most likely to balk.
Obviously I've got too much time on my hands because I can't help obsessing over the best place for Fultz (it's a sickness, I know). Places that are great at developing players: MIAMI: what would they trade? They wouldn't want to give up good players for a possible bust. Winslow maybe? SAN ANTONIO: same question. Patty Mills would be a good fit for the Sixers (and a fellow Aussie for Simmons) but isn't he a bit old now? UTAH: I feel like Dante Exum for Fultz might be a fair swap, and there's that Aussie connection again, but Exum can't shoot either. However, he can defend really well, and the Jazz might not be inclined to give him up for (again) a potential bust. MAVS: they'd love to give up Wesley for Fultz, but although that would actually help Philly in the short term, I doubt they think that would be fair. Maybe Harrison Barnes? But who would Philly throw in to make up salaries? Teams that need a PG: INDY: who would they give up? Bodganovic is a very good shooter/scorer but he's also a very poor defender, so...? SUNS: see above suggestion KNICKS: talk about out of the frying pan into the fire (for a player who's "sensitive") But I think Ntilikina would work nicely in Philly because he's flexible but not necessarily a pure PG (and wouldn't need to be next to Simmons). However, he's not (yet) much of a shooter either. (In case it's not obvious: I think Portland makes very little sense for Fultz. Unless maybe Philly wanted to swap ET for him, but I don't think they had a particularly happy experience with him last time round.)
Basically they took either superstars or duds. Whereas other teams usually pick very solid players. So it averages out the same. Let's compare them with, say, Sacramento or Phoenix, shall we?
Very true. Portland fell into 2 solid drafts in a row...that ended up netting them nothing in the long run (I guess LMA made them relevant, but nothing special). They lucked into things. It doesn't always work out this way. I don't know if I'd be able to maintain being a fan if the Blazers went that route.
I don't follow your reasoning. First of all (and people forget this all the time) PHILLY NEVER HAD A SHOT AT TATUM. Think about it: Boston always wanted Tatum and Boston had the #1 pick. If there was ANY CHANCE AT ALL that they wouldn't get Tatum, Ainge would never have traded the pick. Also: you make it seem as if Philly could have had both. But they swapped the pick that became Tatum for Fultz. So if you like, you can (at best) pretend that Philly swapped Tatum for Rozier (assuming this goes through) but of course they wouldn't've got Tatum if they kept the #3 pick.
I would take him on as a project. He's only 20 years old. He could be the heir apparent for Dame and this team does remarkably well with scoring guards. I just wouldn't give up anything of real value for him.
I’m a fan of his, and watch sixers games to see him occasionally. Dude just looks like...fucked. Half the time he seems like he is dribbling the ball out of control...on purpose. With a bored expression in his face. Like he just doesn’t care about basketball whatsoever. He has got some elite hesitation moves, dude can get anywhere he wants to on the court, but fuck. He’s just in over his head, like the game is too fast for him mentally, and he’s too proud to admit it to himself. And then there’s his shooting issues. I’ve thought that it might be possible he is just totally sandbagging, but I don’t think anyone wants to give up anything of value to find out.
It's weird because this isn't an Anthony Bennett situation. This guy was legitimately a #1 pick level talent. He's just broken.
At the time, he was the clear #1. It was him, and everybody else. Idk man. Fucking weird. He’s gonna make like 30 million bucks though, so maybe he’s good with that. Retire at 22 set for life.
Someone will take him and try to fix him. I personally think Portland could do it. Look what happened with Nurk. He just didn't a change of scenery, and Dame is arguably the best leader in the NBA.
I saw a report that the Cavs are hot after Fultz. Why are teams so stupid? Sounds like a good strategy to draft a PG with the 8th pick and then trade for one 20 games into the season.
If he gets his health back and is able his shot back to where it was, then hes a future all-star. I'd take that gamble in a heartbeat.
His comp coming into the draft was Brandon Roy. He's an elite level talent. But how do you cure these yips of his?
