    The one thing to be positive about, Portland has been there before (well, most of their players...well, some of their players) AND the one match they did play this year was a draw.

    That's really about all I can wrap my head around.

    Can anyone explain why the conference semis and conference finals are 2-leg aggregates, but the championship is only a single game?

    Can't say for fact other than other big soccer competitions such as Champions league and Europa league championship are very similar and have used a similar format for many years.
