Trading Dame would be a huge emotional gut punch to the fan base. Any deal not involving multiple good draft picks should be a non-starter.

I know - why would I expect the fans to enter into it? Destroying the team and fan base in one swoop is in the interest of the new ownership, who gets a ready made excuse to relocate.

Hell no. That would be like the Blazers calling up Milwaukee and asking for Giannis for Turner, Caleb, Jake, Wade, and a couple picks. No. Hell no.

I really wish Dame was as good as Giannis.

This thread only shows how little Rasta values Dame. His trade proposals are fucking horrible for a fist team All-NBA player.

I get it you're frustrated the Blazers have been... Frustrating to say the least. Trading Dame just waves the white flag that the Blazers are never going to even try to compete because we can't. Say you go after picks, and you get lucky and get the number 1 pick in the draft for the next 3 years or something, you're hoping that literally ONE of them is as good as Dame is.
I know Dame has his weaknesses but the guy is still a great player. It's the team around him that needs an overhaul, and they need coaching.

I'm all for making some big moves to change the talent around him, and if a gm came in and was dead set they were going to trade Dame they better get more for him than what's been proposed.

I just think trading your best player in his prime tells the whole NBA world whelp we quit and at that point might as well move the team and all that other nonsense. Trading Dame is the wrong move in my opinion.

In that respect, the thread just reflects the current situation.

Maybe, but these days great PGs aren't exactly rare (which is why it's hard to come up with good trades for him.) Half the teams in the NBA have a good-to-great PG, a PG who can outplay Dame on any given night. True, PGs who can score like Dame are much rarer, but so equally rare are PGs as ineffective as Dame on defense.

New ownership may very well go in a different direction. Replace Olshey and Stotts, then trade players for picks and/or young potential type players.

Hopefully our team has a new coach and GM in place before making those moves.

Dame is a top 5 PG though, and his leadership is invaluable. This whole post is an injustice.

The Celtics present the best scenario for a trade involving Dame.

I would however swap Dame for the Greek Freak and be happy with that!
