    https://www.yahoo.com/news/wisconsin-republicans-forge-ahead-power-stripping-bills-044446141.html

Outgoing Governor Scott Walker is a sore loser and has passed bills with Wisconsin Republicans in a lame duck session to limit incoming Democrat Governor Terry Evers power. This is a fucking outrage. If this were Democrats doing this there woukd be hell breaking loose. These are unscrupulous manuevers to stop Democrats from taking back Wisconsin and to try and help Trump maintain it in 2020. He already lost it. Respect the vote republicans.

Can you imagine the outcry if Democrats did this? It would be all over Trump's twitter.

IMO, the "if Republicans did this..." "if Democrats did that..." narratives are incredibly counter-productive. Why not just focus on what is actually happening rather than speculate on what some people might do if some other people were doing something that they're not doing? That accomplishes nothing except to further strengthen the divisive "them-vs-us" mentality.

Sorry, there is nothing wrong with pointing out the hypocrisy of the Republican party.

    They're chock full of hypocrites.

    A. Primaries should be held on their own...that is just obvious. That would actually make sure every vote is more fair.

    B. If they have the authority to pass bills right now then they have every right whether you like it or not. If something they pass is unconstitutional then it should be struck down.

No, I don't. If they had a problem with the way the government was structured, they should probably have addressed it earlier. Obviously they didn't, and this is just a completely transparent attempt to neuter their opposition.

Pointing out actual hypocrisy...sure. What I'm talking about, however, is theorizing hypothetical hypocrisy.

He is still serving the term he was voted in for isn't he?

IF and this is a huge IF...if conservatives were bitching about the reverse they would be bitching about someone following the rules. There is nothing illegal about passing laws during a lame duck session is there?

This was not the republican claim when they never bothered even bringing the Merrick Garland's nomination - 9 months before Obama left office.

The Republicans didn't break any laws when they did that did they?

I've grown tired of spin. It is legal or not.

Is it a legal issue or an ethical issue? If I had no ethics i would probably support trump.

What is a spin? It is the president's role to nominate judges. The Republican controlled senate decided to ignore it because he was a lame duck president.

In this case, a lame duck governor is trying to pass laws restricting an elected one.

How is this a spin? It is an ugly showmanship of partisan behavior, in one case they "respected" the upcoming election, in the other they blatantly do not. Text book case of hypocrisy.
