I wouldnt be surprised if an episode of Lost or desperate housewives beat out NBAs ratings as well. But what did they base it off of?Can we have the link?
Most basketball fans aren't huge fans of the NBA in general. They only tune in to watch their favorite team play. The playoffs have 4 teams playing right now, not exactly a huge fan base at the moment. You also have to consider that the NBA is at the bottom of the 4 major sports. It doesn't come as a huge shock to me.

Profitwise it actually isn't too far behind baseball and football because of more expensive tickets than baseball and more games than football, as well as more endorsements than both.
How is the NBA at the bottom of the four major sports? Last year I was watching the soccer championships and the commentators were talking about how the NBA and basketball in general is the 2nd most popular sport in the world and is on track to pass Soccer in 10 yrs or so. Maybe in certain regions, like the New England region, football or baseball is bigger, but basketball is very big, around here atleast.Ive been watching all the playoffs, and for those who havent been watching yall are missing some awesome games. But like I said, the Finals ratings will probably go up alot.
I remember reading something awhile back that listed the NBA at the bottom.1. NFL2. Soccer3. Baseball 4. Basketball
Okay, I looked it up and in America, basketball is 3rd behind baseball and football. But in the world, Basketball is #2 behind Soccer.Shame on you BALLA, you thought soccer was more popular in America than basketball.LINK
Ratings wise, basketball has been in a slump the past few years. Even in the playoffs. It might be popular but it doesn't show with viewers.

This years playoffs is garbage. There aren't any fun players to watch...Jazz, Spurs series is garbage. Spurs are obviously gonna take that.Detroit and Cavs series is garbage as well. Worst 2 games I've seen..Detroit and Spurs in the Finals. Don't really wanna watch that..

It's two top tier teams again two teams that arent even close to them. The Finals will atleast be less predictable and more competitive

High school, college, olympic and UFC wrestlers are great athletes and have to have really good stamina. I just dont see how it can be beating a mainstream sport like basketball.
