I agree with much of what you say, but I do think there is a definite political differences that Conservative views versus liberal views that create the divisiveness. There always has been, only now days with 24/7 media and social media many of the extremist on both sides have become more aggressive, because its who can get in who's face first by using the media as their bullhorn.

Honestly I think there is a whole lot of wrong in this post. However, I understand why one would think that. There are undoubtedly some truth's to it. I kind of feel like this is exactly my point from above a lot of yelling and no one listening. Not that you are yelling, but I feel like it shows a lack of understanding (listening) to what the other side actually feels or thinks. It seems like more of a representation of what you think of the other side.

I'm not going to argue with you, we all have our opinions. I just think one of the worst things you can do in this environment is act like you understand the other side, without having a real desire to understand them. Obviously I have no idea how much you've tried to, and maybe those ideas came from a lot of research, but my personal opinion is that is pretty off-base. I just think this reads like something the left would say in their closed circles and all get up and clap and say how right they are. It doesn't read much more sincere in terms of fixing the problem as some of the things the right says in their circles.

In terms of Trump, that whole 2016 debacle was pretty legendary on both sides, I don't know how anyone can get around that. That was two parties playing the limbo...

I have many friends and family in the midwest and south and some are Republicans and some democrats, really fine people from both sides. I don't view the ones that voted more against who was running against Trump as racist or white supremacist in any way. and I don't view the ones that voted for Bernie or Clinton as socialist and/or anti American constitution. I view them as Americans with their own views and thoughts but most importantly as people that deserve respect.

You should really rethink that....I voted but not for Trump or Hillary..I voted Johnson ....if you don't vote, you shouldn't complain in my view

I haven’t been complaining, I’m talking about the left and the right. That’s a ridiculous stance to have honestly. As if one vote changes the entirety of the results. As if voting for Johnson would of actually done anything. This is the old timer way of looking at things and that’s fine. Once again I’m not complaining. Whether I voted or not, these things still have affects on me whether it be socially or directly. I think I can complain and say things if I have been called a racist and whatever other bullshit this forum has thrown at me for views that aren’t very left. So yeah that whole can’t complain didn’t vote thing is horseshit

And your horseshit is bullshit. You CAN complain, but without participating in the election, you have absolutely no currency. And that is why your opinions aren’t given much if any credence here. Letting others decide for you who leads the country negates the validity of any related opinion you might have. At least for those of us who DID participate anyway. What part of that can’t you see?

As if not voting changes the entirety of the results eh? 17% of people under the age of 30 voted...I guess the old timer way is the only option...my Libertarian vote was a big fuck off to the dems and republicans period....it was a vote for change...I've voted for cannabis legalization for many decades and guess what...it's finally legal here...you have to live a long time sometimes to reap the benefits of your efforts in this world eh? There's no instant gratification in politics ever...buckle up youngin'

Another old timer with the same opinion, go figure. It doesn’t hold credence here because a lot of people here are very very left and while I hold leftist views, I also use logic so I dont go off the leftist deep end just as I have right views but I’m not going crazy about building walls or whatever the hell it might be. It’s called ideology. Some of you, go crazy with it. Hey that’s fine, you do you. I don’t let the party system and tribalism blind me to the actual facts

I mean it has to be in the main part of the forum. I know this because when Cippy was unbanned he said he only wanted to talk about the Blazers and wouldn't post in the OT section anymore.

Anybody who has lived here a couple years up until the legalization could see it wasn’t only a matter of time before legalization. I live in this country. Regardless of me voting or not, I can have opinions on these things because I am an American citizen living among other American citizens under the law here. I’m a taxpayer. That’s all I need.

You don’t think I should have an opinion on it, that’s fine. But here I am talking about it whether you like it or not and there isn’t much you can do about it. Either have the conversation or shut it down by saying “hey you didn’t vote so I don’t think you can have these opinions”. You took the second route. Show some me you’re more than willing to find ways around real conversations with people that don’t hold your views to just try and shut them out

Oh so what you’re gonna ban me for talking in the OT section? Could you make it anymore clear who you like and don’t like here? This is what you do though. I offer actual opinion, not left or right and you come along and troll. What a joke

you have made so many assumptions I don't know where to start....I'll simplify it...I'm not the guy who will argue with you about nothing...I'm the guy who is telling you your generation should vote....I'm not saying not to have opinions...I'm saying if you don't bother to vote...you shouldn't complain about the results...personally I don't care if you listen...I'm a teacher by nature whether you like it or not and I started lobbying for cannabis legalization in the 70s...it was a long journey..not just a couple of years in Oregon. My wife worked really hard for her citizenship and was so proud she could finally vote...minorities and women marched throughout history to earn the vote....you have it...I say respect it and contribute..apathy doesn't impress me...do what gives you the greatest joy

I agree with a lot of the stuff C91 shares. I like it when young people try to see both sides and be balanced. To me everything is about balance, grasshopper!

Now if I could just pass that other 7mm stone, nothing like pissing blood and crazy back ache for a few weeks. Ive passed a couple today already.

No, I'm not going to ban you. I don't like you enough to ban you. Because if I banned you I would have to give you a free Blazer t-shirt.

Or wait, maybe I do like you and was just teasing you.

I am not trying to argue or argue about nothing. I am not complaining about the results. I already said both Hillary and Trump were terrible candidates. We aren't talking about the past, we are talking now. Everybody can vote as long as you are of age and a citizen. I just think this idea that you can't complain if you don't vote is ridiculous
