Is there a possibility that Tim Duncan got robbed for DPOY? He is so efficient on the offensive end, we seem to forget his defensive presence in the paint, as well. He's averaged more than 3 bpg this entire playoffs. In Game 6 against Phoenix, he had 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 blocks. Camby certainly deserved it, but what about Tim Duncan? What do you guys think?

Watching the playoffs this year, I'd definately say he is worthy of DPOY, in the regular season though I think Camby deserved his award this year. But I'd say this year in the playoffs it wouldnt be unfair to say TD has done the best job so far.

I really think that Duncan or Bowen should have gotten DPOY. Although Camby is an amazing shot blocker, the Denver Nuggets are a poor defenisve ball club, and I dont think the winner of this award should be on a poor defensive team. Every year it seems like the Spurs are a top 2 defensive ball club in the league, and every year, Duncan and Bowen are either 1st or 2nd team all NBA defense (Duncan 1st almost every year, and Bowen too), but they NEVER win...Its getting old.

No, Duncan didn't get robbed. U can only say he got robbed if he was the clear choice for DPOY which he wasnt. It was between him, Camby, and others. Camby has been deserving of this award for years, he got it this year because he stayed healthy and continued his great defensive play.

When Ben Wallace won it, he played for a good defensive team in the Pistons. When Dikembe Mutumbo won it for Philadelphia, they were a good defensive team built around AI. And Alonzo Mourning for Miami in the late 1990's. Tim Duncan was healthy this year, and played in 80 games, what's the difference?

DPOY is all about numbers, and just like with everything else, Tim Duncan gets ignored.

I'm not sure if Tim Duncan got robbed, but Camby didn't deserve the award. Despite being a tremendous shot blocker, he's not a very good defensive player at all. I actually think Shawn Marion deserved the award more than anybody this season.

Put Duncan or Ben Wallace on the Nuggets and while they would still be great defensive players they would not be as good as the currently are or have been. Camby shouldn't be ignored just because everyone around him can't play defense.

He's a elite defensive rebounder. BUT, in terms of the more important defensive aspect, man to man defense, my opinion is he is an average defender. Several players this year and years past have exploited this, not to mention he usually covers the opposing teams worst offensive big man (given, most teams do this to prevent foul trouble). You guys remember last year when Amare averaged 38 against him in the playoffs? I'm not sure of the numbers this year but I'm pretty sure Amare had a decent series scoring wise...when he was playing.I think that good man to man defenders are underrated. Raja Bell, Andre Iguodala, Tayshaun Prince, Ron Artest, Kirk Hinrich, etc. and those type of players are very rarely mentioned in DPOY talks.

And why should the DPOY go to a player on a good defensive team? That makes no sense. It would make no sense to punish a good defensive player who is on a poor defensive team.

That didn't change when he got to Denver.

Yes I think Duncan got robbed. Camby though gets a lot of blocks is not a great man defender as he is too thin. Duncan is like a wall under the basket and too strong to back down.
