http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/bask...y.ap/index.html Thank god. If it happens tomorrow I know that Larry Harris will be making the right decision. This only confirms what I've been saying for the past few months in the draft board about us not needing Kevin Durant.
If the Bucks do draft Oden, yall could either trade Charlie V(which I would do and put Bogut at the 4), or keep both and put Charlie V. at the 3. With that, yall could have a really big, good rebounding team. I havent watched much of Charlie V, but I know he played the 3 for Toronto and did pretty good.

Charlie Villanueva will most likely come off the bench if Bobby Simmons is healthy by training camp if we were to pick Oden.
If the Bucks land the top pick and draft Oden, I'm pretty much looking for a draft day trade from them to try and move up and get Conley... meaning they'll probably give up Bogut or Villanueva.
If I were the Bucks, I would draft Durant. You already have your frontcourt set so why not add a great wingman and further deepen you team? Do you think another center with the first overall pick can help as much as another superstar Lebron-like player in Durant?

We are one of the better offensive teams in basketball when healthy. We already have a 27ppg scorer. We don't have a shotblocker or a tough defender on the roster. Our frontcourt is not set, Charlie Villanueva has yet to prove he can play good enough to defense to start. Even if your frontcourt is set, Greg Oden is so good, you cannot pass up on him. There's no problem adding Greg Oden, starting Bogut at PF and having Villanueva come off the bench next season. Not to mention I don't want Villanueva coming off surgery next season having more injury problems. We need someone in the paint because we don't have anyone else. We don't need another scorer. We need a defensive force in the paint.

If anything trade Redd, get you a strong defensive minded SF(artest maybe?) and Pick Durant. Durant can also help you right off the bat, and what if he turns into this era's answer to michael jordan and you already have two guys up front who could end up as 20/10 big men. That would make an amazing team that would even rival Kareem's Bucks. On the other hand adding Oden means you have to continue rebuilding, make a trade for bogut or villanueva(who the bucks have invested alot of time into) and spend at least another year or so before you even begin to make a serious playoff push. Either way things could work out but Durant seems like a better fit here if the Bucks were to get the first overall pick again.

If we get the 1st pick, honestly, I don't care about Villanueva anymore. Greg Oden is just so much better than Villanueva and Bogut. We need defense. We don't have a shotblocker or good defensive player on this roster. Trade Michael Redd? No way. He's way too dedicated to the city and we have too much money invested in him to trade him....For Ron Artest? Are you kidding me Primetime? I can't believe your posting something this stupid. Ron Artest is completely unreliable, untrustworthy and not a guy I want representing the Bucks, he's the last thing our franchise needs. I'm sorry, but Kevin Durant isn't the next Michael Jordan. We don't need more scorers, we need a defensive center. I'm sorry again, but Andrew Bogut and Charlie Villanueva are never going scare anyone or rival Kareem's Bucks. This season if we were to land Oden we simply have Villanueva come off the bench, like he did this season. We have no big man depth. If selecting Oden means we have to trade Villanueva next offseason, it's completely worth it. Villanueva is a good player, but we honestly cannot have him and Bogut on the floor together in the paint, they give up tons of points and are too soft on defense. Bottom line, adding Durant means we will score more points and yet again, give up just as many, it would be a never ending cycle...and adding Durant would lead to a Villanueva trade anyway, we can't resign Bogut, Villanueva and Durant, not to mention with Durant and Redd together, that would end up being 80% of our offense, why would Villanueva want to stay with that situation?

He dominated the college game as a freshman, also he is not as one dimensional as you think. He is basically Lebron James a second time over, maybe even better. Oden is a great player also, espically on defense but if I am running a franchise I dont draft a center one year, trade away my most reliable player(ford) the next year for a upcoming PF, then draft a center again regardless especially when you have the chance to have a team full of superstars. I see that the Bucks are a terrible defensive club(trust me they're in my division, I see them plenty) but right now(considering you have the number one pick) You have the chance to get a once in a lifetime player and you already have a young frontcourt. What I meant by Artest was(mainly that he could be an option since he'll likely be a free agent but moreso) was that Defensive players are a dime a dozen. You can easily get them anywhere. In the bucks starting 5 what is their worst position? SF. That is why I say Durant.
Another point I forgot to mention is, Adding Durant and trading Redd has two major benefits. His worth has increased since his arrival and trading him away could add some very nice pieces while trading Villanueva or Bogut really wouldnt get much in return at this point in their careers and Redd is probably the worst defensive player on your team so why would you want him on your team that much espically considering he wont ever be any better then he is right now(and so far he's lead the Bucks to nothing) if your so focused on a defensive oriented team? Even if you get Oden, he does not have the versatility that a player like Durant has, and when playing great guard matchups(which our aplenty in the central division) Redd will still get lit up night in and night out.

In the NBA he's going to be a dominant scorer at small forward who is a big mismatch, but honestly, he's not that compariable to LeBron James. They are much different. I've already explained a dozen times why we don't need Kevin Durant and why Oden is the better choice, regardless of who we already have on the roster. Larry Harris understands this, you don't seem to. Also, we will be unable to keep Charlie Villanueva even if we do pick Kevin Durant. And SF is our weakest spot but we have Bobby Simmons, David Noel and Ersan Ilyasova on the roster. We need a dominant defender, without it, we will simply be a team that gives up as many points as we score, and being a Bucks fan, I've seen that song and dance and I'm tired of it.

That's hardly enough to fully anaylze a players game to see their maximum potential. Really at this stage all you can do is speculate. As I said though, if the bucks were to draft either they would be set. There really isnt much more to be said.
I'm talking about at this point, I know everything about both players, you made it seem like I didn't understand what Kevin Durant's potential is, when I do. I've studied, watched both players a lot. Thats all you got for your final post? You compare LeBron James and Kevin Durant which is a stretch, at least elaborate on it....also, you made the point that if we draft Oden, we have to get rid of Villanueva, but it doesn't matter who we draft, the drafting of either player essentially means that next year is Villanueva's last in Milwaukee.

And if they drafted Durant there would be no reason to get rid of villanueva(espically if he's productive next season)If anything is to hurt the team the most it is their defensively weak backcourt which is mostly due to Michael Redd's terrible defense. Like I said, as long as Michael Redd is on the bucks, they will never be a good defensive team.

Why would Villanueva want to resign with the Bucks knowing he's going to be sharing shots with 2 elite scorers and sharing with Andrew Bogut. Also, I doubt we'd have the money to resign Villanueva with Redd's contract, Durant's future deal and Bogut's entension. He's the odd man out. Michael Redd is a poor defender, but all teams have a poor defender in their lineup and they work around it. I'm not expecting us to blow the lights out on defense, I just want someone in the paint to block shots and be physical.

Also what if you draft Oden and Villanueva and Bogut both turn out great and Durant becomes an allstar in his rookie year. Then you have too much depth in your frontcourt and still a very weak backcourt.
Either way if the Bucks get the number one or two pick they will improve immensely but you stand to win more with Durant I believe while if I was talking about a team like the celtics I would say take Oden in a heartbeat.

Because we need Oden's defense in the paint long term. If we draft Durant, we get eaten alive in the paint once again and our team goes nowhere. There's no such thing as having too much depth in your front court, if Villanueva turns out to be great, than thats great for his trade value. Considering we have no depth at PF/C right now, it would be great to have Villanueva come off the bench for a season. Michael Redd will never be the oddman out. He's the leader of our team and our franchise player. Besides, he's hard to trade being of his max contract. He's not leaving Milwaukee.

Thats what our GM realizes, thats why he says Oden is his guy if we get the first pick.
The reason the Bucks defense is so bad though is because of Michael Redd. The rest of their players while not all-defensive first teams can at least hold teams to a manageable number of points. After TJ Ford was traded they lost whatever defense they had in their backcourt.
