I heard PFF calling Indiana the best basketball state in the world, I have to disagree.Indiana... meet New York:Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Tiny Archibald, Bob Cousy, Lenny Wilkins, Julius Erving, Cliff Robinson, Channing Frye, Stephon Marbury, Jamal Mashburn, Charlie Villanueva, Mike James, Ron Artest, Jamall Tinsley, Rafer Alston, Brent Barry, Carmelo Anthony, Sebastian Telfair, Elton Brand, Lamar Odom. The list could go on forever.

MJ was from North Carolina. 2 top 5 players of all time > I top 5 player of all timeAnd in NY basketball is generally a neccesity to get out of the hood, it does not mean it's a passion. In Indiana basketball is a love where kids play it for hours just because of passion

Indiana is the best pure basketball state. I don't think the number of NBA players from a particular state means it's better. It usually just means that state has more black people in it. I don't think any state has more passion than Indiana as a whole, it's all about basketball, I think thats what PFF was getting at before he started listing players which sidetracked and screwed up his argument.

Well, for the best basketball teams, I would say Texas...they have awesome NBA teams and very good college teams.

He didn't get the motivation, the skills, the will, the height till he was a sophomore. I would consider him from NC.

How about Massachusetts? the Celtics have been pretty damned important to the game of basketball. oh yeah, than there was some guy named James Naismith who invented the game in Springfeild, Mass.

Because thats where he learned most of his basketball skills.

I know the MJ story, he wasn't any good till he was 15, when he was living in NC. And actually, I find it weird that you guys are talking about where they were born instead of where they actually developed their game.
