Lillard is deeply emotionally attached to Portland as a place to work and as a place to live.
Too bad we no longer have Paul Allen.

You keep thinking that Lanny. If enough people think it? It absolutely must be true. Right?

If Nyone thinks players think loyalty wins out over business tou need look no further than the average payroll. Both in individuals and as teams.

The nba is a business and you better believe that every player including Dame knows this.

The thing is as much as we all like Lillard and want him here he eventually will leave Portland. All players do except players that have won a championship and decide to stay but those are few and far between. Is Lillard Dirk or Duncan? Even Micheal Jordan played for another team.

Yeah but if he leaves Id rather it be in his mid 30’s to go get a ring then his late 20’s. It seems like poor strategy to finally get a star have him in his prime and then start over.

    Days are getting shorter.
Everything is required to be instant nowaways.

    Example. Kd.

I disagree. I want him to play for the Blazers for 20 years and then lose him for nothing. Just like Spurs, Mavs, and Lakers have done with Duncan, Dirk, and Kobe. If Dame ever got traded, I would throw up. It'd be that upsetting to me.

Three examples. Heres a few going the other way.

    Kd
    Lma
    Lbj

now look at what players like kawhi Nd kyrie did to thier teams when they realized nothing was going to happen with the team they were on?

I dont want Dame to leave. Ever.

I dont want to lose him for nothing in his prime either.

Well yes. To them it's a business. So two sides of a coin right?

He won't walk from us in his prime. He is due for supermax. He will ask for it, we will pay it. On his contract after that, he will probably take payout to help build the roster as he goes into decline (something Chris Paul should've done).

If he takes a max, unless he does some sort of major payment deferal we are screwed.
