Nice win. That kind of defense might get you a win in the regular season against an average opponent but it will most definitely get you run off the court in the playoffs when the intensity ratchets up a few notches. I mean, c’mon, there’s no excuse to allow that many free runs to the rim, especially in a single quarter. It would be interesting to count the number of uncontested layups/dunks for the Clippers in the 4th.

Why is that? If they are playing against the other teams bench why should our bench have a "considerably" lower +/-?

    Yes, 2s v 2s, so it's apples v apples.

Our bench is wildly inconsistent. I expected more out of Curry. Just figured him to be more of a sure thing with open shots and making heady plays. He and Stauskas last night were getting fancy, missing layups and even struggling with ballhandling.

I think if they play within themselves and don't force stuff, we are fine. But, after watching him this season, I think that might be Stauskas' problem; he's trying to play to his draft status instead of accepting that he's Kyle Korver Lite. And I think Curry might be pressing because he's trying to prove something coming off his injury.

Our problem with our defense is the scheme they play. There allowing the mid range game and last night the Clippers went off at the mid range. This another reason why sometimes they get there offense rebounds due to after there shot there no one there to box that person out. If our middle does goes to block out that leaves there guy to get the offensive rebounds. Yes we get give up a lay in here there and a 3. But teams are actually killing us at the mid range game. So I am saying the scheme is actually what making us a bad defense team. Last year teams wasn't hitting the mid range shot this year they are that the difference between this year defense and last year.

I'm fine giving up the mid-range shot as a general rule.
The biggest issue is not changing that up when going against a player who makes their living with mid-range shots (CP3, LMA, etc)

Why, they are usually playing against the other team's bench, aren't they?

I hope Olshey never buys anything from Ikea...he can't even put a simple bench together.

That's a good point, I guess I've accepted that we have a weak bench, compared to our starters, again this season. If they were good, you're right, they would be on the plus side.

If Nurk ever has a good game, all the opposing coach has to do is pull their C out of the game. Then Stotts will automatically sit Nurk...

(If that's what happens when Stotts tries to make adjustments I guess that's the reason why he doesn't make any)
