I put in for both Williams and got neither. When I looked at the waiver order I saw you were one spot ahead of me and just knew you would put in for Jamaal Williams. I guess it's just one of the downfalls of being the best all season :)

@hoopsjock so looking at our championship match-up this week. You are going to destroy me in the RB department, you are solid. I am battling time share possibilities with Ware/Williams; Conner/Samuels; and maybe even Fournette's rookie back-up - so I'm not getting any favors there. I think WR's and D/ST, and K's are roughly even. I should have you in the TE department, but Kittle is going against the Bears D, so that might get nullified. I need to get you at the QB position by a lot to have a chance. I need Goff to keep struggling and Brees needs to pull it together, he has been terrible fantasy wise lately. And of course, I need Mahomes to go crazy, but he is facing the Seahawks in Seattle, so it will be tough to expect a huge game.

Anything can happen, but I think your stockpile of RB's, especially McCaffrey and the way Riverboat Ron is using him at a very scary rate, will probably be my down fall. The view from the top has been nice all season, but i see you coming fast. Just got to hold on for one more week!

Cam Newton being shut down for the rest of the season (this was my motivation for trading Rodgers for Brees. I was afraid the Packers would be out of playoff contention and with the knew injury he has been playing through, I thought a good chance he would sit at the end). @hoopsjock now here's hoping this will bring McCaffrey back to earth..haha

In the league with my friends, our final/championship games were last week. Because teams sometime start benching their studs (rest for the playoffs) or sitting injured players when they are out of playoff contention (Cam Newton for example) starting this week.

No, they are just going to give McCaffrey the ball on every single play now. Heck he can even play QB!

It's tough how to proceed. Lots of leagues use weeks 16 and 17 for a 2-week championship. At least PDX as Josh Allen as a back-up. He has been the highest scoring QB the last few weeks I believe. I kept picking up and dropping Malcom Brown (Rams RB) through out the season, thinking the Rams would have things wrapped up early and possibly sit Gurley the last couple of games.

That's what I'm afraid of, 40+ touches probably. It's usage like he got in the last game why Bell decided to sit out. RBs are used and abused. Nice for fantasy though.

I'll bet they will limit his touches. Why risk a serious injury that could possibly carry into next season?

...I tried to make crucial moves for my spectacular 5th place matchup this weekend and if that also influenced teams competing for the top 3, then welcome to the most competitive league you've ever been a part of :devilwink:

That kind of sounds like something Bones would do and take time researching my team to try and guess which free agents I was going to pursue so he could keep them from me.

It happens every year, mostly because of injuries, but I still get shocked that guys like Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Jaylen Samuels, Damien Williams, Kalen Ballage, John Kelly, and Tim Patrick could be factors in determining champions of leagues.

Forgive my stupidity, but myself and PDX Reign are playing for 3rd place ($40), since we both lost in the winners bracket last week, correct? When you look at the scoreboard/matchup page for playoffs week 3, it also shows RipCity Robots and Poop Emoji playing in the "winners consolation ladder" with us.
Rip City Robots and Poop Emoji played each other last week also. They go up against each other again this week?

I looked through the league settings and it doesn't provide any clarification. I'm with you, that you and PDX are playing for 3rd place and the others are playing for 5th place. But for 5th place they really didn't need to play again this week or could have a 2 week match-up to determine 5th, but it appears it's a whole new match-up between the two though. If I'm bored, I'll google it. There is a good ESPN fantasy football FAQ site. That is how I found the seeding issue when more than 2 teams are tied that Bones was unaware of.

I'm not sure why they play again but you're definitely playing for 3rd.

Well @BonesJones, it took longer than I expected but Josh Gordon is about to get suspended and has stepped away from the Patriots.
