<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>By Israel Gutierrezfor HOOPSWORLD.comMay 21, 2007, 15:04 Grant Hill to the Lakers: The Lakers will likely go through a serious offseason makeover, with the primary objective is improving the post play and the point guard position. If they can grab Hill at a minimum price, it would be an upgrade from Luke Walton, would allow someone else to create plays other than Kobe Bryant and would give Hill another legitimate shot at making a deep playoff run, which a class act like himself clearly deserves.</div>

You can't put much stock in this rumor, I remember Bill Ingram saying he was interested in Houston and Dallas as well for this offseason. Plus he mentioned Phoenix and Detroit as well.

I don't see this happening. I do see him signing with his old team, Detroit though. Especially considering how successful the Pistons have been in recent years. Also, you have to consider the fact that this IS Hoopsworld. The same site that said we would get Carlos Boozer last year, and guaranteed Jason Kidd to be a Laker without us giving Bynum. I don't even read any of their articles anymore.

Take it for what its worth but listening to a local sports radio program they mentioned that Hill said he was looking at three options: Detroit, Phoenix or retirement.

Yeah, I don't see Hill playing for the Lakers. If Grant Hill chooses to play another year instead of retire, you can rest assured he'll either stay with Orlando (which is doubtful) or sign with a legitimate title contender, and the Lakers are definitely not legitimate title contenders at this point in time.Personally, I would like to see him sign with Detroit, and finish his career there. He would have a shot at a ring by being a critical player for the Pistons off the bench, and finish his career with the team that he enjoyed the most success with.

I agree with Bigmo, Grant Hill has a better chance of making a deep playoff run staying with the Magic this next season rather than going to the Lakers. He would be best suited signing on with the Pistons for lower money, and coming off of the bench. He could make a huge impact off the bench, provide a ball handler and playmaker for the second team. They already have the best starting five in the league in right now, having one of the best bench's in the league to go with it would make this team championship contender next year.

I'd love to have him on the Lakers we could really use him as a backup but as a longtime fan of his I'd rather see him go back to Detroit and go out with a title where his career began.

Oh, that sounds good, just another player to waste away on the injured list.

I would be very offended if I was Luke Walton, ha. An upgrade? Ouch.
