Another big game. Well, every game against the West is huge because playoff seeding at season's end may come down to various tiebreakers, so the Blazers must come out prepared and play their butts off. Both teams are 5-5 in their last 10 games.

The Jazz may be in 12th place in the West, but because the Conference is so tight, they are better than they appear and still in the thick of the playoff race. They were the 5th seed last year and their roster hasn't changed much, so we know they have enough talent.

So the Blazers better not look at the standings and overlook these guys. Utah just beat the Warriors, so they will be coming in this game with confidence.

Meanwhile, the Blazers have won 3 straight (and 4 home games in a row), so they should be playing with a pep in their step.

I expect this game to be a dog fight.

I go back and forth. I do miss the homerism of warm and fuzzy feeling of the old crew - but when the Blazers get on a roll and the game gets exciting, the new crew adds a lot to it.

I didn't really like Barrett/Rice when they were here but i liked them more than Calabro/Hurd at this point.

Calabro seems to finally be getting better. That must have been a tough transition. Hurd could be really good but i think lacks some of the energy he could have?

Hoping the Blazers keep their minds and sights on the goal. Play them one team at a time and go take care of Home Court.

Not a fan of Rice?

Let me guess - you come from one of those families that keeps the crazy uncle locked up in attic instead of letting him wander the neighborhood in his bathrobe. Snob!:devilwink:
I didn't "hate" rice, I just think Hurd is better and more insightful. That's actually a pretty good description of some of my family members, we should probably lock them up now that you mention it heh. :)

Hurd is too scared to call out the team or Calabro on his mistakes. I'd rather take Rice and his antics. Barrett was whiny as hell but Calabro is just plain bad.

But Rice was just as bad as Calabro in terms of mistakes. Rice was just more likeable. I dont think Hurd is scared to call him out, its called being respectful. I didnt really see Barrett as whiny, but to each their own I suppose.

But Barrett did call out Rice when he made jokes and it became funny (somewhat). For me personally I don't ever really learn anything from commentators except maybe some obscure stats so I'd rather be entertained. I also think there is a big difference between the analyst messing up and the play by play guy messing up.

It always comes back to the way they were let go and never gave the fans a reason. It was a huge mistake on their part. I think they owed Rice a chance to retire instead of being fired and I don't think Barrett deserved to be canned. You don't do two guys that had been ingrained in the organization and community for so long that way. Myself personally I care about that kind of stuff.

I liked rice because he made it feel like you were watching the game with an alcoholic relative. Barrett was boring.

I didn’t like Hurd at first but he’s gotten much better. Calabro is good when he doesn’t get Portland mixed up with Seattle.

If you took Rice seriously, that’s on you.

Just watched the Warriors @ Jazz game...... Utah is clicking. They fly all over the place on defense. I had forgot they acquired Korver.

They gave them a fully paid year to find another job. I think that’s the best way you can possibly treat them. I liked Mike & Mike but I like Hurd the best of the four so I voted Calabro/Hurd.

So does just clicking help or can we also do some sort of review or promotional thing?
