    I believe that's required by the rules here?

    Please don't lump me. Allow me to do that. In exchange I won't lump you.

    I suspect there's no amount of my logic that will cause you to question your position let alone change it.

    How could there be anything than an either or in this?

    Does a certain amount of illegal immigration sit right with you?

    Perhaps, not really sure. I think a certain amount of illegal activity in where a Black person could sit in a bus or protest in public or enter a White restaurant or drive after dark or rent a hotel room were some things I could have found all right. How about a 'colored' drinking out of a White drinking fountain or using a White restroom? This was once illegal.

    All of those things were moronic. That seems to be part of the problem. People using past sins to justify current positions.

    Being a terrorist is "illegal"

    Maybe we should just invite the hiding ISIS fighters here and let them be free in America. All they want is a better life.

    The past sins were once considered logical.
    Maybe you should get a grip. Who said anyone wants ISIS in here and since when do Catholic Latin people convert to Sunni Islam?
    Who on God's green Earth wants a terrorist of any stripe in here?

    I just think we need to rethink this whole immigration issue. Now, someone in the Trump administration is lobbying for more Irish immigrants as if they are superior to others.

    What do we do with the 13 Million undocumented Latins that are in here now? Build a wall to keep them in?

    East Germany had a law making it illegal to leave the East to go to West Germany. Ronald Reagan told them to tear down that wall. Were the immigrants fleeing East Germany and East Berlin illegals?

    Have you seen the Irish people try food videos on YouTube?

    I'd have no problem with them coming if more of the women are as cute as the ones in the videos

    I'm part Irish. Part Scottish, American Indian and perhaps even some English, also. Got a Scottish last name.
    The people I admire the most? You ask. The Germans, after WWII, of course. They are hard working and very technically minded, just like me. Can't stand most of their food though. I do like sauer kraut and beer sausage with beer. I also like gemütlichkeit.

    what are your suggestions, as i agree wholeheartedly with you on the importance of the solution to the second quote and the need to reshape the entire process to address immigration?

    I don't have solutions to everything but I do have a few thoughts.
    1. Renew DACA;
    2. Provide a citizenship to undocumented immigrants who have been here for over a decade with no felony convictions who meet other criteria including paying a fee and learning some English, by the way, my wife had to, among other things, demonstrate a working knowledge of English to pass her citizenship test over 40 years ago;
    3. Provide a faster avenue to citizenship by serving honorably in our armed forces;
    4. Faster adjudication of immigrants who have entered undocumented to determine whether they meet legal obligations or are here illegally. We should adjudicate everyone seeking asylum in a timely manner.

    Legally, we cannot limit the number of asylum seekers who enter here either at a check point or not at a check point. Therefor, making them wait adjudication in Mexico violates federal and international law. I expect the court to rule on this expeditiously.

    provide "a" citezenship, or full citezenship? in other words are we going to create a separate class of citizenship without all the benefits of native born or those that went through the process legally?
    voting rights immediately, or down the road?
    eligibility for government assistance from day 1, or only after completion of citizenship process? or ever?
    what about those that have been here less than the decade? what will be their status? what will be the end game for these individuals?
    how about the families of those that would meet these minimal requirements and the chain migration process we have now? would it need modification/limitations?

    My opinion is either you have full citizenship or you have a green card or you have DACA status then you can get government assistance. Anything short of that must be in the adjudication process or having been through that processed and rejected, expelled. Being in the adjudication process would not grant any government assistance.
    Voting rights only come with full citizenship.
    Those who are here for less than a decade would depend on their age and criminal record in determining whether they would qualify for a sort of limbo DACA.
    All non citizens without a green card must be adjudicated legally.

    The police officer shot and killed in California was shot by an illegal.
    We need border reform.

    The wall is dead and nobody has ever said that I have read that we don't need border security. Even if a wall was built it still wouldn't keep immigrants from gaining entry. It has also been shown that 90% of the illegal drugs come through the port of entry. The wall won't stop that either. I don't see any scenario where trump gets his vanity "boarder" wall and he lied during his campaign by saying Mexico will pay for it. Trump also blew it when about a year ago he had a package delivered to him for 20 billion for his wall and agreed he would sign it only to do an about face the next day and refused it. Time to move on from the wall and get this government back open as trump needs to stop trying to play bully and own up to it like he said he would on national TV.

    I'm not in favor of a wall, I'm in favor of improving border security and for two long a number of administrations have also agreed, but politics always prevents anything from happening, it seems.
    If there is no compromise on both sides, then nothing gets done.
    If Im Trump, do away with the wall and address chain migration, better over immigration policy with bi partisan support. And agree to the daca deal for the 1.8 million.
    Just a thought...
