Basketball is not a religion. I am not morally required to support this team. So I'm making an early New Year's Resolution to pay less attention to the NBA. Time to get re-invested in Leeds United.
Been a Blazer fan for more than 25 years. I've spent the least amount of time this year out of all previous years on this team (even when they were 1st in the west) and I'm very happy with my decision.
I probably enjoy watching other teams more than just watching the Blazers all the time. With the Blazers it's the same shit and nothing ever changes. I have to see other players and styles out there to at least keep my interest up in the game.
Thats because you are a true fan of the NBA. Even if we didn't have a team here Id still be watching both college and NBA as it's a form of entertainment that I enjoy.
I love basketball and I think giving up the “sport” would be hard to do, but it would be so nice if it felt like NO or whomever at Vulcan seemed inclined to make changes. Its been way too much the same for me...
Yesterday I watched a lot of basketball like many of you guys. Spent a lot of time watching offensive sets and ball movement to try and contrast it with the Blazers offense. Saw some similarities but a few things jumped out to me. Many teams seemed to have multiple guys that moved the ball up the court, did not see many force a pass to their PG and then th PG walk it across half court. Seemed to make the offense move at a different pace. Another thing is the ball movement. I mean other teams seem to penetrate and kick it out maybe even move the ball down low which seems to draw in the defense and then leaves people open for non contested 3 pointers. just those two things with the blazers and you can see why we hardly ever get open 3s. We are always running 2 or 3 guys around the 3point line so when the clock runs down the defenders are already at the 3point line. Then as out Pg walks it across half court the defense has already dropped back into position.
Could not agree more, here’s a thought about the poor performance by the blazers is that they don’t need to blow it up but sure would like to see something different. I know people are going to say stay the course and see where it gets us but I just don’t want another scratch and claw to get into the playoffs and then get our asses handed to us in ththe first round. Last night was the total lack of confidence that showed up in last years playoffs.
The only way to change the coach is continue to lose. If they make the playoffs you will see Stotts and olshey back next year.
I'm in the so what I don't cut their checks phase. I've been a devoted fan since the 80's and will still be ……....but......….I don't stay awake to view another loss anymore.
This makes me sad....that we let him go for nothing. Thanks Neil. 14 points and 15 rebounds last night and this jaw-dropping block on Giannis.
You guys are a year and a half behind me, as usual. We geniuses always have to be pariahs until the minions catch up.
I'm a half-step ahead of you, stranded on the Isle of Bleak, watching it all pass by in an almost daze... "Do the Blazers play today?" I ask myself, unsure. In years prior, I'd awaken in the morning well aware. The sun seems less bright and the wind more harsh.......maybe I've reached the Great Sadness after all.
I'm starting to watch NFL since 2 weeks, really interested in this Sport, I'm still learning how the game works, it's really complicated haha. But i need something different in my Life than the Blazers and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, they both are fucking depressing. Luckily the NFL became very popular here in recent years , you can even watch it on free tv. Any idea which team I should follow? So far i like the Steelers, Cowboys, Seahawks and Patriots haha, but the Steelers a little bit more than the rest
Don't forget to watch the Saints and see one of the greats in Drew Brees play the game! Another team to watch for offense are the Kansas City Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes as their quarterback. Cleveland Browns are one of the up-and-coming teams.
