Game Thread GAME# 39: THUNDER @ BLAZERS - JANUARY 4, 2019 - FRIDAY, 7:30 PM, ESPN & NBCSNW

We have the same issues in wins.

 

The offense was being run through Nurk. They just completely abandoned it in the second. Nevermind the robo sub patterns and leaving in guys like Turner and Leonard way too long. The game was pretty much lost late in the third/early fourth. This loss is on Stotts.

 

KJIronMan + KingSpeed vs. Me, HoopsJock, TBpup, etc.

Lol.

 

Oh Boy... Here is the last one for the night. This one takes the cake!

" The Blazers are always competitive. They always seem to have a good team. And they have one of the best coaching staffs in the league."

This is from a comment from a fan of a team that has a better record and just beat the Blazers in Portland. Could you imagine what comments i would find if the Blazers had won that game?

Yeah, I'm sure Thunder fans have a better grasp on our coaching staff than us.

Now come on man. I don't do Jinxspeed shit. And i don't go all in that everything is perfect. This team needs wholesale changes without question. I even agree with you that a coaching change would be a good thing. But i'm just not willing to bash a very solid man that gives everything he has to this organization. Terry Stotts deserves more respect than what you give him is all i'm saying.

You gotta love how, instead of discussing any of the real basketball reasons why our Blazers' coaching staff gave away the game tonight, this guy is grasping at straws by quoting posts from a Thunder forum.

 

Even then, it shouldn't have come to that.

 

It's not all on the coach. You guys take the very easiest way out every time and say it's coaching. Some things are out of the coaches hands.

When the offense ignores what worked in the first half to try and get the shooting guard going, who’s it on?

 

Look i watched about a hundred different reasons that a shot didn't fall and a assignment got missed. I was not in the huddle and i don't know what Terry said. I also watched Dame have a weak night. I also watched Nurk get in foul trouble and get pulled for Meyers.
Lots of reason the Blazers lost. You want to blame the coach then so be it. But it's just funny that every game thread for every team has a guy just like you that can always say they know more than the coach of the team.

This is why I want him as a GM. Said we should be aggressive and go after KD, and he has a clue. He knows how to win a championship based off teamwork. And he actually understands our situation.
