I locked the other thread because of posts from @dviss1 and @Hoopguru. Don't have time to clean them up and wanted to end the brain damage. It had nothing to do with @MarAzul or if people agreed with each other.

Obviously. Nothing to do with a difference of opinion. One guy has an opinion and the other guy CAN'T because he doesn't like brown people cuz his racist President told him not too.

I don't know. Their position changes from time to time or year to year.

So I just go with what the Boarder patrol says we need to lock it down. That seems like the right thing to do. I could envision getting by with
an M60 about every 200 yards on normal day. Might need some back up when 8000 rush area though. More ammo carriers at least.
Man, just think of whine that would raise. Converting 8000 rushers into a visual deterrent would give Nancy righteous indignation.

But perhaps a wall would look moral in comparison though.

An honest thread title would be:

House WASTING TENS OF MILLIONS OF TAX DOLLARS PUSHING FAKE Spending Bill THAT THEY ALREADY WERE GUARANTEED WOULD GO NOWHERE UNLESS THEY INCLUDE $5 BILLION FOR THE WALL.

    or:

DEMS BURN TAXPAYER'S MONEY THEN TAKE A DUMP ON AMERICA.

That is 100% on the lowlife excuses for human beings that deliberately left their rotting garbage in a park they knew had it's funds cut off by the Dems.

Much of it appears to be done by employees to exaggerate the issue.

Why lock my thread on private funding for the wall just because AGAIN you don't want to deal with a certain frequent rule breaker?

This thread is not related in the least, in fact it's the opposite, so should I start another thread on private funding for the wall, or am I to be censored and forbidden to discuss it because of someone else's failure to follow posting etiquette? :dunno:

They certainly would lose Fed employee and all their relatives votes, and the vital union voting block. The senate needs a visit by the Teamsters.

So does the filing deadline get extended or nullified?
Government can shut down but we still better pay them money for not working and dont be late with the payment... Or else!!

according to gen. john kelly, former head of homeland security, this statement is incorrect or at the very least not representative of their position in his experience while the chief of their administrative agency:

When Kelly led Homeland Security in early 2017, one of his first steps was to seek advice from those who “actually secure the border,” Customs and Border Protection agents whom Kelly calls “salt-of-the-earth, Joe-Six-Pack folks.”

“They said, ‘Well we need a physical barrier in certain places, we need technology across the board, and we need more people,’ ” he said.
this is a direct quote from his very recent interview with the la times.

i think it is disingenuous to say that , because they are holding his "wall" hostage, that they don't agree to any border securing barriers. he will eventually get funding for his section of border "wall" that he will name after himself as in "the trump towers", to massage his ego, but the all or nothing kill the hostage negotiating position isn't going to fly.
if he could get mexico to build it, do it. short of that, which was how we were sold on how it would be built, he needs the house of represetatives to approve funding. the constitution states they are 1/2 of the legislative branch and they control the purse strings.

for two years he couldn't say yes to deals that would have given him the funding he now demands. he and the republican party no longer control the entire legislative branch.

the government needs to be reopened on the CR, and his wall, and immigration negotiated as an aside with the funding for the dept. of homeland security.

Sly and forum members, I apologize for my part in that contentious discussion. I have great respect for the forum and enjoy being a part of it, I committed the cardinal sin in allowing my emotions get the best of me when I really should have turned the other cheek.

I was out to dinner with Mrs PokerDog when I checked in on the forum. Saw the BS so it was best to shut it down. Then I got home and watched something called a Blazer game. You might have heard about them. It's kinda what this forum is about.

It's weird how you immediately try to make yourself out to be a victim.

Posts are deleted. "Your" thread is open again.

make every poster of a new thread that threads mod, but with only the powers to effect change in that designated thread.
they can then live in their own echo chamber
they can then experience first hand the time consuming nuisance of moderating a dialog between forum members of differing opinions and temper tantrums which have no real world consequences.
they can then see just how difficult it is to herd cats.
