Stotts doesn't like Quick. I think that's the only thing you can really take from this. And asking a coach to evaluate a players season after a tough loss where the player in question struggles is pretty clearly unfair imo.
I don't see it as being micromanaged for a mod to step in and do a friendly reminder that posts are going off topic and that it needs to go back on topic. Mods are like refs (we hate refs, lol) and refs call fouls to keep the game in control.
Okay that's a fair way to read it. I guess it could have sparked that line of thinking. He could have gone straight to it also. But i have a built in Knee Jerk reaction to Quick in general. And i guess maybe those on the team might also.
Yeah I mean Quick doesn’t have the greatest reputation so I could see why Stotts reacted the way he did. Still doesn’t make it right imo. If only there was another reporter that would ask the same question.
Yeah that is another issue. What happens in practice stays in practice. What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room.
I've never reported anyone and I don't know what spam would look like here. I don't even know how. If I saw any I would eat it, not give it away. You think I'm Olshey?
So they can only ask for an evaluation of how a player is doing when they’re playing well or its unfair?
I honestly thought it was going to be Mike Richman but he seems to have lost favor also. As i understand he is very close to Quick.
I can assure you HJ will not report you or anyone else. Now we have both been warned i think? but neither of us will report or even ignore you.
Stotts was just having his guy's back...it's how you keep a locker room healthy..or at least that's how I see it...same as taking a tech for the team.
how come quick doesn't mention the fact that klay thompson, also struggling , only has a single game of over 5 assists in an offensive system that produces large team assist numbers? no drama otherwise.
He fucked up though. Even if he hated Quick, it would’ve been so much easier had he given some standard media answer. By getting all defensive he inadvertently let everyone know he didn’t actually believe what he was saying about CJ.
Klay doesn’t have the ball in his hands as much as CJ. Their roles are different. Can’t compare them.
So when is an appropriate time to ask questions? Fairweather reporters that do nothing but regurgitate positivity even in times of struggle provide absolutely no insight to a team. When a team is struggling, they should be called out on it. When they're playing well, they deserve praise. I don't see anything wrong with Quick's reporting here.
Now you are projecting your feelings into someone's actions. You have no idea how he feels about McCollum.
It makes me wonder how many in this forum played a sport at a reasonable level as emotions always play a big part in a game and not a good time after a tough loss to be evaluating things as often times the wrong thing might be said. By Stotts cutting off Quick he avoided that, but then again it doesn't take the boo birds long to project anyway.
