Lauri Markkanen has made at least one 3-pointer in his last 25 games dating back to last season. With one 3-pointer tonight, Markkanen will be in sole possession of the seventh-longest streak in Bulls history. Chicago’s opponents have recorded seven or fewer steals in eight-straight contests, it is the longest active streak in the NBA and with one more such game, will tie the longest streak in the league this season. Kris Dunn has recorded four or more assists in nine games in a row, which is the second-longest streak of his career. With the Pacers nabbing just 40 rebounds on Jan. 4, Bulls opponents have been held to under 50 rebounds in 10 of the last 12 games. All five Bulls starters scored in double-figures in back-to-back games on Dec. 28 vs. Washington and Dec. 30 vs. Toronto. It is the first time that has occurred since Feb. 9-10, 2018. The Bulls recorded one of their best performances of the season on Dec. 23 at Cleveland. The 112-92 win was the team’s largest margin of victory on the year. On the defensive end against Cleveland, Chicago held the Cavs to opponent season lows in rebounds (31), defensive rebounds (24) and assists (11). Kris Dunn had one of the best performances of his career on Friday against the Pacers, dishing out a career-high 17 assists. It was the seventhhighest tally in Bulls history and the most by a Chicago player since Derrick Rose on March 26, 2011. Dunn is one of eight players across the NBA this season with 17 or more assists. He also added 16 points to his effort, marking his first double-double since Dec. 31, 2017. On Friday versus Indiana, Lauri Markkanen tied his season high with four 3-pointers. Additionally, Markkanen has hit multiple 3-pointers in 12 of his 16 games this season. Zach LaVine paced the Bulls with 31 points on Friday, marking his sixth 30-point effort of the season and 25th game with 20 or more points. LaVine is one of three Bulls since 2000 to have at least 15 games with 25+ points through the team’s first 39 games. In Friday’s game against Indiana, Carter Jr. recorded a career-high three steals and notched his 30th game with at least one blocked shot.
Kendall Gill called Hutchison a young Jimmy Butler with more skills than Jimmy had when he came into the league. Mark S called him a mini Pippen. Kendall said if he is even 1/2 of Pippen the Bulls have something.
